Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: What do you like to listen to / watch while crafting?
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I like these yarn colors. The names are lingonberry, China blue, and dark moss. 12 inches high and 12 inches across the bottom. It's 3 strands of worsted weight yarn, 2 of the color, one of white.

Today, I've been trying to distract myself with chores. As far as the crafting part goes, I added some detailing on the fairy house I made at last month's workshop with liquid pearls. You can't tell I did anything but it does look better.
I prepped my bag for going to Lynne's tomorrow. Much later in the day she called me to let me know she was going on a trip with her daughter tomorrow and could I check on the cat for the next week. I said yes, and confirmed the details with her daughter.
I also added a layer of underpainting on the canvas I got for the art contest. I just felt like I had to get something on there.
Back to Lynne. I've been avoiding talking about her, mostly I didn't know how without overstepping. She is unquestionably worse and it's being exacerbated by stress. Card making itself has been more or less fine. The more complicated the card, the better she does, as long as I don't ask her to dot something with a pen or outline something. The problem is her relationship with her son who has been acting as her full time caregiver. It's just a bad match. Made worse by Lynne genuinely bring frustrated by everyone telling her she can't live alone. Like she has started throwing things, which is completely out of character. The only reason things have been better the last 3 weeks is because her son has been diagnosed with cancer and she has been worried enough about him, that she no longer thinks he's horrible. He starts treatment Monday, in a different state.
Because of this, Lynne started telling everyone that I had agreed to stay with her until the end of August. I had not. We hadn't even discussed it. It's not possible. It's been a tense few weeks figuring things out, which is how we got to here. And where things go from here is unclear.

The fairy house sounds cute!

They are, especially the one my mom made. Their only drawback so far is that the sand sheds a bit.
