Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: What do you like to listen to / watch while crafting?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Getting there - you'll be finished another one before you know it.

I haven't been posting here much but I have been crafting! I made a tiny repair to a pair of doll pants for my Spectra yesterday. I've also been crocheting on a black-and-rainbow throw for the sofa and I'm probably 25% done. I've also been going through my stash for things to donate to a local secondhand craft store. Productive!

Sounds like excellent progress

In the end out of three cushions only two needed fixing: redoing a few stitches here and there, some rethreading in the corners. It'll hold for a time but when we find a suitable piece of fabric we'll redo their covers.
Also, the shirt I fixed last week? lost yet another button, so I sewed that back on too. (And I discovered something weird: it has five vertical buttonholes, but the last one at the bottom is horizontal? I wonder why...)

Well done on the fixing and mending. In regard to the bottom buttonhole being horizontal - apparently it's because the lower area needs to be able to flex and move more than the higher buttons which a horizontal buttonhole allows, while keeping the button secure but the vertical holes look neater and are easier to button/unbutton but are less secure - for more information see here.

I've learned something new today!

In my current situation (living in a convent, becoming a religious sister, etc. etc.) I am not allowed to listen to music while I craft; however, even before I did all that I prefer silence. It allows me a chance to think.

Some sisters who are perpetually professed do listen to music on occasion but it's hard to do when in tight quarters and you don't want to disturb others.

What I'm working on: I just finished my bulletin board project. Now I'm just sewing laundry numbers onto my clothes. The boring stuff

It's good to focus in and be able to give your full attention to a task and to have space with oneself.

Well done on your finished project and the routine chores to help sort the laundry.

Tonight I've sewed up the wings, made and sewed on the antennae, attached the wings to the butterfly, sewn on facial features (although I'm tempted to remove them and try again) and crocheted some more spots. Only two of the smaller spots got sewn on today.

Left to do: 2 more spots to crochet and 10 to sew on... and possibly undoing the face and trying again. I've got a late appointment tomorrow so won't be home until probably after 7 so not sure how much I'll get done by the time I've made some dinner and eaten etc.

I have a rather simple scarf that I've been working on--the pattern is just interesting enough to not get boring, but easy enough that I can memorize it. Just passed the halfway point.

A very dark navy and a deep purple!
