Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Bit short of time and concentration today so all I've done is the increase row on my sweater, but I've ended up with the right number of stitches so my calculations were spot on!

That's a row which always takes time because you have to think about it, so it's a good one to get done.

Yep! But now the real thinking starts as I learn to follow the chart. Must remember to read the rows right to left... At least every second row is purl.

Day 8 of the Stitchalong and final stalks and leaves. I've also started knitting a little elephant.

Two more days. There are the final flowers and the last few details.

Aw elephants are so cuter and yay for getting the stalks done. Are you happier with your daisies now?

The flowers (they're definitely not daisies!) do look better with stalks. I like elephants :)

I just gave an elephant watering can to my granddaughter. The trunk is the nozzle and she was pretty excited about it! She loves them too, and I painted her an elephant picture for her nursery when she was even smaller! They're such lovely animals.

I know I've been a bit mia here because brain is awful, but I have recently started a small cross stitch project:



Also I've come to the end of the yarn I had for the purple-green scarf and have arrived a new challenge: adding in a new skein. The book I have says just to thread it in, but I don't know if that'll hold? It might be that I just try it out and see what happens, lol.

Brains can be like that, but fear not, this community is as zero stress as I can make it, people come and go as the mood takes them. That said, it's great to see you back! Your butterfly is lovely.

If it was me, I'd probably have a knot in there somewhere and then crochet over the loose ends to hide it, but I'm no expert. Good luck, I hope you can figure it out, or maybe there's a youtube tutorial that would help...

I found it in an op shop with baked enamel all over it and I wanted to strip it off so i can use it in camp and I've just made a big post about it on LJ here of anyone's keen to see the process.

Wow, it looks great! So much better than with the paint all over it.

I couldn't use it in camp as it was, but after this morning's final clean, the faintest mark where the alcohol level is marked on the back is almost invisible. It's really great! I look a nice pic for Instagram today with other proper reproduction glasses and it looks great! Not 100%, but certainly usable after dark in a friend's tent, which was the entire point.

Hust goes to show what you can find if you keep your eyes open. And kudos for finding a way to remove the paint. Vinegar is briklliant stuff.

I really love vinegar. Gentle for some things, positively caustic for other things.

I use it when I'm trying to clean the inside of my fire. It helps.
