Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: We all probably have multiple WiPs, but which of yours has been hanging around longest, waiting to be finished?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Congrats to getting the boring part behind you! And sorting supplies is always an important thing.

I spent half the afternoon with writing labels for my Christmas wares-to-be: various jams, sugar paste candy in different flavours, honeycomb toffee, brittle bonbons, ginger syrup and the likes. Still have to make labels for marzipan potatoes, spicy salad oils and salad vinegar. The next step will be making cellophan bags for all that candy... and then more little baskets. *sigh*

It is tedious and time-consuming, but I'll be thanking myself profousely when the time for making the actual edibles comes and I won't have to bother with the packaging.

That is my nefarious plan, yes. Besides, my brain is so numb at the moment that it's better to do tasks that don't require two brain cells firing at the same time.

yeah, getting the hard part tf out the way was the principal with buckling down to do my I-cords so I totally get it. It's gonna be so cool and easy when you and I get to the fun parts and everything that sucks is already done

Finished up the 13th row of scales, so it carries on, but I'm apparently cursed to be pretty deep into migraine territory lately.

Gah, that sounds terrible! Get better, soon!

Sorry to hear about the migraine - I hope you recover quickly.

Haven't got anything done today, but yesterday I managed to finish the next stage of my travelogue - I've just reached China! It's sad to think that I'll be saying goodbye to the first set of friends that I made on the trip within the next few days (so to speak). I haven't started on the writing yet for this next step, so I probably won't make any real visible progress on it for a while as I need to get an idea of what I've got to say (probably plenty!). I'm going to tackle the first few days which I spent in Beijing with the group I had joined in Moscow and the few days on my own - I got quite a bit done, wandering visiting some key places like the Forbidden City and my first trip to the Great Wall. It means there'll be some history and cultural things to write about too so will probably take a while. Maybe this is a good time to take a break and try to finish the cardigan until I've had time to get through a chunk of the writing.

I had to rip four(!!) rows of stitches to get the worn elastic band off of those pajamas before sewing the ribbon in--and then patching the few holes I accidentally poked in the fabric with my seam-ripper.
Now I'm working on adding a cover on a plaid but I did my preliminary maths wrong. Plan B: deep-clean my kitchen, it's the only room wide enough so I can spread the sheets on the ground and just plop one rectangle over the other to pin them.
