Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: We all probably have multiple WiPs, but which of yours has been hanging around longest, waiting to be finished?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Having 4 feet and an udder is definitely practical for a cow. *g*

I'd say something fun and encouraging but all that's going onb in my head is "mooooo" so that's what you get. It's cow time 🐄🐮🐄🐮

Way to go! I am sure it will be a super cute cow.

I've also started a new craft project in the afternoon, deciding to give these little baskets a try:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9xvdOBrnfA&t=261s

I've prepared the eight panels the body of the basket will be made of and am looking forward with a sense of dread to the actual weaving part. I was never good at that sort of stuff. But If I actually manage, I'll make the little baskets without a handle, so that I can put little cellophane bags of home-made goodies into them and sell them at the Christmas fair. So I'll have ample time to practice. *g*

If I can make it work...

Yesterday I got the whole purple-and-white garden weeded.

The new picnic table garden is pretty well set up. :D

I got the giant crystal suncatcher hung in the fairy window.
Sunday, June 1st, 2025 09:41 pm (UTC)
The crystal is the size of a goose egg, flattened, and hangs inside 2 brass rings. :D

careful with crystals in sun! I'm sure a sun catcher is built better than this but sometimes stuff like crystal balls will catch things around them on fire because of the light focusing.

tangential ik but it's my self imposed job to say that to people who might not know.

Yay for picnic tables! Perhaps it will see use soon?

The giant crystal sun catcher and fairy window sound amazing. Way to go with the gardening!

did a row of scales and about half of lattice today in the car. definitely need to get more thread but that's going to wait until like, friday.

So eventually here I get to put myself to the test on if I actually mean it when I say I wanna do another tapestry work. I've got all the yarn, hypothetically. Not today though

Way to go on the scales! You’ve got this!

I’ve never done tapestry work so you’re way braver than me.

Haven’t managed any crocheting today and I really doubt I will but I hope to do some more letter scrapbooking tonight!

There is always tomorrow. :)

Mending & alterations time! I took my seam ripper to a t-shirt that has always been tight and which sleeves my biceps have outgrown last year and took the sleeves off, now it's a wifebeater?
I replaced the worn-out elastic waistband by a ribbon on a second pajama bottom.
Minor stitching on a hoodie sleeve.

Mending is important. *eyes her own, steadily growing heap of things that would need it warily*
