Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Haven't been feeling great today, but I managed about 4 hours of stitching. Had to stop earlier than I wanted to because it's been overcast all day and I was losing the light. I stitched about 1.5 square inches, so not bad, and I think I've stitched a little more than a quarter of the design, but there's still a long way to go.

That sounds like pretty good progress, even if it doesn’t feel like it!

Considering it's taken me a couple pf weeks to get this far and I only have three weeks left to finish it... I need to work faster, but I'm stitching on 20 count, so it's fiddly. Eeep!

Ooft that sounds extremely fiddly!

It is. The design is 112 x 140 stitches, and they are ALL to be stitched, no bare fabric anywhere, so 15,680 stitches in total >.< I should have started work on in in March, or early April, it's hard than I expected because of the constant changes of colour.

It is an ungodly amount of work indeed! If I tried that, my eyes would roll out of my head half-way. BK is a real crafting hero!

It is, and I need to do that every day if I have any hope of finishing this piece in time.

I’ve had a really good afternoon of knitting in the sunshine! My cowl is progressing nicely - I’m about 2/3 of the way through it - and I love how the wool and the pattern are coming out. (It’s just a two row lace repeat but combined with the variegated wool it’s so pleasing to me.)

It's really satisfying, I've been making slow progress on another bigger project for ages, so it's good to do something small and quick and have it nearly done.

Sitting with the mantle scarf project and watching a little YouTube (Midwest Magic Cleaning, he's funny and nice).

Trying to catch up some seasonal chores and gardening. Winter linens are all getting put away soon.

One row of the cardi while I waited for mom at her eye doctor's appt. I felt like I was waiting FOREVER, and could have gotten a second row done but I really expected her to be done sooner, ah well one row is good!

Working on Alphi today since work STILL has no work for me, WTF. I have one round left on shoulders before separating for arms/body. Just taking a short break before I dive back in.

I'm going to be dog sitting starting next week, and I'd really like to finish Alphi's body at least by then. I think it's doable!

Better to leave it at one row than to have to stop halfway through a row, I would think. Well done for continuing progress!

Alphi seems to be coming along well. Good luck with finishing his body before the dog sitting.

No actual crafting done today, but I did cut out some more geometric shapes from my old, leftover felt scraps for further use. That counts, too, doesn't it?

Also, I went to my favourite craft shop (Rayher) today and I found some beautiful felt, in deep blue and pale lilac, with white polka dots. I already had the same felt in pale pink and pale blue, plus some smaller sheets in white (with black dots) and brown. So, now I have a lovely collection; no actual plans yet what to do with them, but they're really pretty, and I simply enjoy having them.

It's sweltering here, which limits my ability to do yardwork outside. I've gotten a bit of writing done. I may get back to the barely-started terrarium.

The terrarium sounds like it's a nice indoor project to work on while it's too hot to do much outside. Writing is also a nice, non-strenuous activity in hot weather.

I got the cookie jar terrarium assembled! I'll have to add microfauna later, but the fern is in place.

forgot to take the project to work. and its a work day so it was take the project to work or bust.

ah well. not every day will be productive for crochet.

Think of it as giving your fingers a day off. They need that occasionally.
