Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Yes, I've only done 8 rows so far and the pattern says 8 cm. I've got a way to go yet, and before I continue I need to decide if I'm doing the smaller or the larger size. I may have to unpick what I've done so far and start again...

Heee, thanks! I'm just about to rip it all undone and start again with the bigger size. It's only a difference of 6 stitches, but I think it'll be more comfortable. I'm only small, but a bit more room would be good.

I finished my second knitted ladybirds - definitely thinking of turning them into brooches.

And it was Day 5 of the Stitchalong. More foliage, which I can complete tomorrow, since Day 6 isn't until Monday.

Hello! I'm new, to the community and to knitting. Well I done knitting before, but it's been forever. I decided to jump in by knitting a vest. I have finished most of the backside and I started the left shoulder, moving into the front, yesterday. I would not have managed without the help of my aunt though :D

I took up knitting myself last November for the first time in ten years, but it's surprising how quickly it all comes back.

Congratulations on your progress with your vest. Sounds like your aunt is very handy to have around to help out when you need it. My mum taught me to to knit, a VERY long time ago, then ended up coming to me for knitting advice. It's always good to have someone with more experience you can turn to if you get stuck.

What colour is your vest? And is it plain or patterned? Enquiring minds want to know! *grins*

I am making this vest, but in blue The green in the picure gives the wrong inpression, it's just blue, with some ligher blue in parts. If anything it is more grey than green.

It's good to have my aunt around, and when she is unsure we can call up her sister/my other aunt for help as well :D I hope to become better and more independent, but I am happy with how the vest looks and I have done most on my own.

Welcome! I craft but don't knit. Even in high school I did someone else's art homework in exchange for them doing my knitting homework. I'm a bit in awe of anyone who turns wool into wearables!

Thank you :) I prefer crochet to knitting, but I shall give knitting a proper go. It's amazing what people can do indeed, I am in awe too.
