Check-In Post - April 26th 2025

Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: Do you change crafts with the season or stick to the same crafts year round?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

You're seriously working on a new pair of arm warmers? How many are waiting to be sewn together again? *g*

Woohoo! Glad you got a lot of crafting done and also got to enjoy a good show and an especially good episode!

I've finished three more pincushions while watching the funeral ceremonies of Pope Francis. Seven done, five more to go.

Me, too. I wonder who will follow.

Not if they choose the Hungarian archbishop…

They just might. They tend to choose someone very conservative after having "endured" a progressive one. It isn't that I don't like our cardinal, personally - I remember him as a young priest candidate; I happened to witness his consecration - but I seriously doubt that he'd be the right one, due to his conservative views. Then again, God knows best what's needed, right?

Congrats on pincushion progress! Sad watching, though.

In a manner perhaps. On the other hand, he'd led a good life and left a wonderful legacy, so...

I have done much planting! I finished off the potted plants from the most recent order. I still have bare-roots from that one and pots from other shopping, but progress!

Today I'm down to 2 flats from 5 earlier, and I emptied the recently arrived box of potted plants, although I still have other stuff left. So I have accomplished much!

Plus boxen and boxen of mail orders, and one on the way. But I have about 2 acres.

this time it's actually nothing 👍.

Not a ton to say. I basically only work twelves so whenever I work unless I make it a bring the project to work day it simply does not happen.

Good to see other people progressing! Keep it up!

Kudos to you for surviving those shifts, though, for reals.

Today was a very busy and tiring day, but I managed a tiny bit of scrapbooking, which put a tiny dent in my massive backlog of old letters and cards I need to store (thankfully they're mostly sorted for easy organization into binders). Something is better than nothing!

Scrapbooking is fun! I wish I had your talent of organization; my various papers are always in disarray, despite my feeble attempts to sort them.

A train delay transformed a quarter-hour transfer into *three*-quarter-hour so on that last leg of travel my brain felt too "meh" both to read and to doze off so I whipped out the knitting project, untangled (once again) my white ball and knitted a couple centimeters of scarf (while admiring a guy in shiny golden shirt & shoes and clingy black trousers sitting a fit further away.)
