Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I used to love creating things for friends and family, and I still do at times, but right now I figure it's my turn again for some nice things ;)

Haven't knitted anything yet today, I'll edit later. I plan to start the raglan shaping of the sleeve, see how far I get.

And, the sleeve is done! I love raglan shaping; the rows get shorter and shorter!

I go in cycles where I only make things for others, then I binge and make two or three for myself.

I'm working on the second nephew hat (blue and orange).

Well, we have to treat ourselves, don't we? Can't give everything away all the time.

I like my jewelry, but I don't wear it too often. Mom, however, never goes a day without at least wearing a pair of earrings, mainly if we're going out (today she's actually wearing some pumpkin ones of her own, since Thanksgiving's approaching). I really need to get my beads out, and get to work on some stuff for her; she really digs getting my stuff for special occasions. :)

My mum used to appreciate the things I made her, I miss that. It's so much fun making things for someone special, I'm sure your mum would enjoy getting some new pretties to wear!

That's great that you mum wears the stuff you made her. I made mum bunch of stuff but she hardly wears jewelry, although I know she loves them anyway.

I added a row to my baby blanket last night!

I generally prefer to make things for other people. Often because once I get good at a pattern I make it over and over again, and I really don’t need half a dozen of the same thing...

Yes that's a good point. It's great to know other people appreciate what you make for them though.

I don't usually make physical stuff for other people as my skill level really isn't up to the point where I'd feel comfortable doing that. I do sometimes do dumb stuff with PicMonkey and the like and get those designs printed up as keychains and other tchotkes, cause I don't feel as exposed giving away a silly wordcloud as I would something is actually handled. Totally my issue, not the people around me, but there you go.

It can be a bit fraught, gifting something you've made, but you enjoy what you make for yourself and that's the important thing.
