Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Out in the garden again today, cutting back more of the holly and brambles. I've made great progress, and I wore a new pair of gloves so I got prickled less. I'm clearing away the fallen holly leaves from underneath the bushes as well, because even when they're no more than skeletons, the points are still sharp.

Do you have much more left to do or will you get a break soon? Well done on your continued efforts! I need to try and start on a bit of work in my garden soon (not so vigorous as yours but still a struggle at the moment).

Much more to do? 🤣 If I work at the garden all year without a break I'll still have a lot to do. Things keep growing! This section there's a lot to do just clearing the holly, ivy, and brambles and getting the roots out, if that's even possible. And that's without tackling the overgrown hedge. But it's supposed to be raining tomorrow, which means I'll get a day off from gardening. I did enjoy myself today, it's very satisfying to step back and see how much clearer the banking looks at that point. This part was mostly clear 4 years ago...

I was meaning more of an ‘at this stage’ than an ‘ever’. Did it rain today? Did you get a day off the garden and back on the knitting? How are all the scratch injuries?

Taking this section, I'm about halfway, maybe two thirds, but there will be digging once I get stuff cut down. Not just bramble, holly, ivy, and shrub roots, but docks and a deep rooted perennial plant that's spread and outlived its welcome.

The forecast has changed completely, now it will be dry and sunny for at least the next week, so I was out in the garden battling the holly again. I might take a day off during the sunshine, I'll see which day has the lowest temperature forecast. Most of the scratches have healed but I got a couple of new ones. The holly and brambles are still trying to fight back, but I'm winning!

I'm now on row 10 of the third blanket chart. It's progressing quite a bit faster now that I've gotten back into the rhythm of double knitting, but I'm still not convinced I'll finish in time to submit it to the fair. Then again, that's not the most important part, just a fun bonus. The blanket itself is the important part. :-)

So I ordered a couple more latch hook kits a couple of days ago - this time for cushions after I decided that would be a really good idea for my niece's birthday in May. So they arrived in the post today. Today I've spent an hour or two on the painting *I lost track of time* and then I've made a start on the first of the cushions. I've nearly finished the third square and when I have finished that I'm going back to working on the cardigan as I'll finish the first front panel tonight and will spend a bit of time figuring out the start of the second panel.

Ooh latch hook is really fun! I haven't done it since I was a teenager but I've been keeping my eye out for potential projects.

Grandpa arrived today, and the kids LOVE playing with him (he's more fun than me lol) so I got a lot of tatting done! Rounded the second corner and am on to the second side of the handkerchief, and finished a second bobbin of thread, so I had to pause and refill and join, which is slow and tedious, but now that's done so I can continue at a faster pace. I get about six iterations of the pattern before I have to stop and refill, so that's good to know. Might need to see if I have another ball of white or if I need to order another one...

Yay for Grandpa taking the older kids off your hands so you could relax and enjoy your tatting. Sounds like it's coming along well!

No sewing by I've been very busy preparing for the book launch event, and so today I made the cutest little wraparound print coffee mugs for Single Medieval Women. I had some signs arrive and framed some of those for my lounge room wall (because it really was the only wall space I had) and resorted and tidied some sewing and craft storage cupboards.

Lots of crafting adjacent tidying and sorting, very necessary to do, and the making of the mugs counts too. They look great!

Hope the book launch goes well. Time to spending on organising supplies is important too.
