Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: Do you remember the first thing you made in school?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

You are progressing nicely and steadily. :)

That’s a great amount to get through - shame about the joins that meant you had to undo a section.

I did see the final - I did think all three did really well and I did like Sam’s skate. Sad for Mark that it’s his last year and his first ever Bolero.

Sounds like great progress! The end is in sight!

Way to go! Lots of progress.

You are making great progress!

Ah, yes. It's that time of year again. (Which honestly hurts my brain a little. Is time moving faster?)

The lighter evenings will be nice. You were on quite the writing spree.

I gave the pincushion another try - it might actually work out this time, although it isn't finished yet. Of course, it still won't solve the original problem. I thought of pincushions to use up some really old fabric rests. I'll have to think of another design for those.

Good to know that you have found a way to make the pincushions work. Hopefully you’ll find a new idea for the fabric.

Hope it works out this time! I am sure you'll finding something fun and cute to do with the remaining fabric.

My fingers are crossed for you.

I’ve finished the first pair of unfinished socks - well almost, I just need to sew in the ends.

I also did a bit of work on the dreamcatcher cross stitch that I need to finish which is another WIP. I need to decide on another project to work on while I finish the dreamcatcher as I can’t see me working just on it as I’m not in the mood for all the counting of spaces and then just a few stitches in a colour before I have to change colour or area. It’ll look good when it’s finished but there’s very few solid bits to work on and sometimes it’s nice to have something with solid chunks so that I can listen to a book or have half an eye, so to speak, on something on the TV.

I have a blanket that I started and need to work on but I don’t like the yarn - it’s stripes of colour and I’m kind of making it up as I go along by deciding what colour or stitch to use for the next row(s) but the yarn is not comfortable to work with - very acrylic. I also have yarn for a cardigan/sweater and a hat neither of which I’ve started yet.

Way to go with the socks!

Having multiple projects to work on depending on your available mental energy is always a good idea. I bet you will figure something out soon!

Congrats on the socks!

I hope you find another project that suitable. Having multiple projects to be able to switch between is good.

Didn't get too much crafting done today - just two small tatted butterflies to use up some scrap thread and empty out a bobbin so I can refill it for another project, and also I got all the signatures folded for my book binding project. Was going to try to get them all pierced and get the cover board and paper measured and cut (and maybe glued) but the stupid time change sneaked up on me, and I ended up doing writing sprints with a couple of friends instead of crafting, and now I am too tired to attempt to do anything with sharp implements, so...sleep it is, I think,

Sleep is also important.

The time change is a sneaky time thief.

Today I prepped for going to Lynne's tomorrow/Monday. I feel like I forgot to put something in my bag, but I have no clue what. I also prepped some cardstock to make cards to reply to some I've gotten in the mail.

After dinner, I knitted on both tracking shawls, doing the rows that represent March 1-7.

Yesterday, I agreed to go to a charity rock painting event with someone from the library workshops. We have to supply our own rocks. So... It looks like I will be rock hunting.

I also partially caught up with the sketchbook project things I was behind on. I did #14, which was a spring scen with a triangle house and pink trees and #15 which was painting lupines, both with watercolor. I didn't do #16 because the supplies I had out won't work and I can't find my watercolor colored pencils, which might work.

Thanks x2. A shame indeed. Those sound perfect. We're supposed to go to one of the rockier beaches tomorrow (to be fair, all the local beaches are rocky). It hasn't stormed in the last couple weeks, but there should be something to find.

Thanks! They actually ended up finding me. They are almost too lovely and I kinda feel bad about planning to paint them.

My aunt doesn't have either the special needles I would need, but she gave me 400 grams of pretty yarn she won't use anymore. I'll check the knitting supply store tomorrow; it's been two weeks since I asked so they should have restocked by now?
(However it is just possible that I've been using the wrong size needles from the start but I don't feel like frogging everything I've done on that jumper and start all over again. I'll have to think carefully about all that mess first.)
