Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: What kind of crafting supplies can you never resist buying?
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

* a chicken coaster, for the Sidekicks and Pets challenge
* a small heart-shaped doily, for the Hearts challenge
* currently working on a carnation, for the Houseplants challenge, in between bits of work
I need to finish the carnation by midnight GMT, but that should be easily doable. I'm doing 16 stitches after about 15-20 minutes of actual work.
My shoulder is improving. No more pain, but I do have numbness in the arm. I saw a doctor who said it's coming from my neck and is NOT permanent. I start PT for it in mid-March. They had an opening for today, but I couldn't take it because of work, alas. So I have to wait a bit.

Glad you're not in pain now, but how annoying you couldn't take the PT appointment today and will have t when o wait. Still, I guess a couple of weeks to wait isn't as bad as it could be. I hope the PT will help.

I am...unaware of "second sock syndrome", but maybe it's because I've never made socks...

I picked up the knitting project that I'm doing for a friend and did two rows (as much as I can deal with with the yarn before I start getting sore from the friction on my fingers) and I've made good progress on the cream/pink/brown blanket - halfway through row two of six for the chosen border, and I have so much yarn left that I know I'm not playing yarn chicken.

I've never thought of it as playing yarn chicken but that is indeed what it is and I love that turn of phrase. I am glad you don't have to play it for your current project though!

For reasons that I don't remember, I ended up with a bag of mill ends that are the border, and thus I have far more yarn than is needed for the project! The only other time this has happened to me that I remember is when I calculated on 25g balls, and bought 50g balls.

Great progress on the blanket, and yay for not playing yarn chicken!

It's a surprisingly bitey yarn. But lovely to stroke ones hands over, if one likes plush/velvetty feels. I can see why the person who started it picked it, and possibly why it was an unfinished object!
