Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Only 8 rows today, but the increases are out of the way now, just need to work straight for another inch or two, but I'm nearly to the end of the ball of wool.

Well, I'm not playing, I have enough yarn for two or three rows, so I'll just have to keep an eye as I knit.

Oh no! The tension between being near the end of a pattern/section but also near the end of the yarn...

Excellent progress, though!

I only have enough yarn in this ball for another two or three rows, so I'll have to join in a fresh ball for the rest of the straight section and the raglan decreases. I knew I'd need more than one ball per sleeve though. Still hoping I'll have enough for at least one pocket... We shall see.

Did you see Dancing on Ice on Saturday? Anton's skate was just beautiful.

Very well deserved indeed! So pleased for him, after two weeks in the skate-off to come back with that... just wonderful!

Still with the small steps: I've finished one sachet and applied the lace trimmings to another one.

Oh, and as for the question of the week, there's the shortlist:
- beautiful craft paper
- craft punches
- patterned felt
- pretty buttons
- felt appliqués
- little accessoires like small bells, etc.

As I said, this is a shortlist. There are lots of other things that tempt me terribly. *g*

Craft punches sound easy to collect. I do look at those every time I go to the craft store and dream...

Me, too. The most annoying part is that most stores have huge heaps of those I *don't* need and not a single one from the sort I would need very much.

Most of the time, yes. Until I get utterly frustrated by the things that still aren't done. *g*

This blanket is going to take forever -- I've been working on it all weekend, and have only managed ten rows. Not too surprising, I guess, when each row is 464 stitches...

Regarding the weekly question, I absolutely cannot resist cute stitch markers. It doesn't help that I'm always losing them, so no matter how many I buy, I keep coming up short on big projects.

Those are such long rows goodness gracious! Ten rows is mighty progress!

Also yes cute stitch markers are hard to resist! They are so easy to lose...and so easy to desire and buy!

That is a LOT of stitches, so it's understandable that it will be slow going. Even so, ten rows it great progress, 4640 stitches...

I've seen some really cool stitch markers, but I only have one set of boring yellow plastic ones. I should get some fun ones because I started a sweater last year and just could not get the pattern to go right. Never had that problem in over 40 years of knitting, so I don't know if it's me or the pattern, but I think stitch markers might help.

I have only thought about crafting all day.

The closest I came to crafting was...pre-ordering a book of crochet patterns (which just confirms my answer to the weekly question about the crafting supplies I cannot resist). (Also I heard Joann's is going out of business, and there's one about half an hour from here, and now I want to go and peruse supplies and sales.)

But my toddler has been sick since yesterday, and today was super busy to boot (running errands, final ultrasound, T-21 days till Three arrives), and so it was all I could do to keep kids fed and happy and alive till bed time.

And then once they were in bed it was all cleaning...

Let Mommy Crochet 2025 is my new slogan (it used to be Let Mommy Eat 2024 lol).

You mightn’t have crafted, but you’ve achieved a lot. Hope your toddler is on the mend and take care.

Yay for new crochet book being ordered, boo for the rest. I do hope you can get to the closing doen sale though. My local arts and crafts store closed the year before last and I managed to get some great bargains, including all their peel off stickers for basically a penny a sheet. A lot of them are things I can't really use - mother's day, father's day, graduation, things like that. When I get more organised, I might offer some on here.

Hope you can stay well and rested in the remaining time before number three arrives. Can't see much crochet happening for a few months after that though...

Oh gosh, I hope your kid gets better, soon, and you get to that sale. That way you'd be stocked up with supplies for the future when you actually get to your crafting.
