Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: What kind of crafting supplies can you never resist buying?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I have no idea what that means (not a clue about proper knitting, alas), but it seems you have things under control. I'm sure it will look great. ;))

Sounds like an excellent plan you've worked out! Excellent progress!

I did it! In cut the steeks on my vest! So far so good -- I was able to finally try it on and confirm that it fits. And the whole thing didn't suddenly unravel (yet). Here are pics of what it looks like before and after cutting:

Now comes my least favorite part of garment knitting -- picking up stitches around the neck and armholes to do the ribbing...

Good luck with that part. It already looks very pretty, though.

That looks beautiful! And I am glad that cutting the steeks was a success!

Congratulations on your steeking success!

I cut up some fabric scraps to make the parts for the lavender sachets, but that was, basically, it.

Progress is progress! Cutting the fabric is a vital part of the progress.

Wrote one letter today and one yesterday. Used up one memo pad, such a great feeling! I chose the letter set for my next letters, which was such fun. The coordinating envelopes are lined with patterned paper but plain on the outside. I hope I can decorate some of them on Wednesday or Thursday before my work weekend starts.

Using up an entire memo pad is a really great feeling! And way to go with writing letters!

Yes, it's a feeling I absolutely love! Especially given that I have about 10 years of letter paper and memo pads still sitting in my stash. >.

Thanks! They sure are pretty but left untouched, the prettiness is only visible once you open them. I think I am going to decorate them as I use them as there is less time than I had wished until my work week starts tomorrow.

I cut out and prepped paper and book board and a few templates and some pictures for my next papercraft project, which is a pop-up tunnel book. It took several hours, but I got some good listening in on my audiobook and am almost finished with it (just in time to return to the library) and also I gave my wrists a rest from crocheting so all in all it was a good evening.

I feel stupid; I went to my aunt's two days ago to run an errand for her and I should have used the opportunity to ask her if maybe she had a set of 3.5 double-point needles I could borrow... and it skipped my mind. Oh well I'm taking a vacation at my parents's next week, I'll just my mother then. Or wait until I'm back; with any luck by then the supply store should have them restocked?
