Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: Have you ever made a Valentine gift or card?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

That was a good day crafting-wise!

Being ready to start the pattern is great.

Wow! So many rows! Way to go!

I've finished the new elephant today. I think I'll call her Fleur, as she's been made of a floral-patterned fabric. I seriously consider making a third one from Grandma's old gown; it has such bold, bright colours. Picture is coming up, assuming we'll have enough light tomorrow for my way too smart phone (or the new iPad) to cooperate.

I'll look forward to it. The first one was great.

Thanks. :)

Just a little smaller than an A/4 sheet. They swallow a lot of stuffing, so they are not cheap to make, but I think a third one would still fit into the budget. 😉

Yes, but I actually started the project to use up some large pieces of old fabric. What I saved on the fabric I spent on the stuffing, though.*le sigh*

Congrats on finishing the elephant!

Thank you.😊

I repotted some plants today. Not many, as I have been dragging, but at least I got something on my list marked off other than regular chores.

I've made a couple heart themed small doilies in the past for Valentine's, and drawn some cards.

Oh, those Valentine-themed items sound nice!

Those cards sound like they’ll be lovely! Way to go on the plants.

Got more studying done than I had hoped for and rewarded myself by writing another letter and working a little more on the envelope. It was fun! Hopefully, next week is going to be as productive.

Thank you! It was better than I feared but not as good as I had hoped. Last week was the one with a 4 day all day work training. That left me knackered after work and not much energy left after studying. Oh well. I hope this week and next week are going to be better. To-reply pile sits at 3 and I did check my po box for the week, next check is on Tuesday. I hope to write like 1 or 2 more letters.
Monday, February 3rd, 2025 12:03 am (UTC)
That does sound quite productive though!
Thursday, February 20th, 2025 03:51 pm (UTC)
It was indeed! The only downside is that it set my expectations for the next days too high, hehe. Still, it was fun while it lasted and at least I am still on lecture-free time till 6 April so hope to write lots more letters. :D
Monday, February 3rd, 2025 12:24 am (UTC)
Excellent! Sounds very productive indeed.
Thursday, February 20th, 2025 03:51 pm (UTC)
Thanks, yes, it made me feel like a letter writing and studying super hero. Hehe.

I finished knitting and sewing up the toes of a pair of socks, and even more excitingly, used the momentum from that to make myself wash and block it and two other pairs of socks that have been finished for months except for blocking, plus a curling rock hat that I'm making for my baby niece, which I now have some chance of completing and sending to her before she grows out of it!

Kudos to you on the socks! I’ve never knitted a pair well…

I finished one cat bed and started another. I also posted my Groundhog Day scrapbook page to my LJ, DW, and messaged it to my family.

As for making valentine's gifts and/or cards, yes, I've done both.
Monday, February 3rd, 2025 12:25 am (UTC)
Way to go in making the cat bed!

I have made Valentine’s cards and gifts in the past but not recently.

Today I finished a small tatted bookmark and also made it about halfway through a crochet placemat.

sewing sewing sewing. Started putting the sleeves on the kirtle. I've finished the neck though, finally.
