Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

My pattern arrived! I absolutely love it - there are two versions, a cardigan and a jacket, but since they're basically worked the same except for length, if I want I can have the pockets and collar on the cardigan without having to alter much =D


I might change a few things because I don't like the button and buttonhole bands the way they're done, got to give that some thought and decide whether to switch the double rib for single rib, but I might be able to start it at the weekend!

I am very pleased, after thinking that I might not be able to get it when I loved the pattern so much more than the one I was originally going to use the yarn for. This one is so much nicer.

Now I just need to decide on a couple of things and then start knitting! Yay!

I worked a bit on the girl doll's dress. It consist of two identical panels (well, as identical as I'm capable of making any two things, which is not much), and I've almost finished one of those. Whether it will be the front panel or the back one depends on which of the two will turn out prettier - that one will go front. Yeah, it's all about appearances. *g*

Made another star and think I will do at least one more tonight.

I spent some time cracking black walnuts (very thick, use a thing like a vise, cannot hand crack them). I unwisely told my parents I would like a FEW and they brought a ton.

Yikes! Ordinary walnuts are hard enough to crack, the black ones sound hard as rocks!

I really should take a photo series. They ARE rocks. They're very good but if you wanted to sit here and ate them as you cracked them, it would be a negative calorie food.

OK no more procrastination I've started my jumper! Done the whole collar, placed the markers for the raglan--now I just have to remind myself that yes I do how to do a jeté--WordReference says it's called a "yarn over" in English? and I'll follow up with the whole yoke. I can do it! I will do it!!
