Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: If you're making any, what are your crafting resolutions for 2025?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Good luck with the new pattern! :)

Chores are evil; but at least you got to do your writing, which is good.

Good luck!

Ok I'm going to be sensible and admit that knitting a whole ball of yarn might be more accurate but is a loss of time and might fuck up its tension when I frog then reknit it and is procrastination because I'm afraid of actually starting my jumper so: re-do one last 10 x 10 cm sample, frog that, measure the length used and do maths from the result.

I'm just afraid of fucking it up. I had my mom gift me really nice merino wool some time ago for a birthday (turns out I miscalculated how much I would need anyway) and I don't want to waste it?

You got this!

I've made the pants for the girl doll, which didn't really turn out as intended, but they'll do. I hadn't cut the fabric wide enough for the pants to be baggy, so the poor doll now has skin-tight ones. Ah, well, hopefully the dress will cover the worst mistakes. Not having a proper pattern turned out disadvantageous, after all.

Not for some time, methinks.

Are skinny jeans still in?

No idea. I never had the figure for it. 😏

I finally made one crochet star for my holiday ornaments. Over a month late. I'm not going to do as many but I did want to do this project.

Mostly chores are taking up a lot of time. I did the last of the stuff on the floor in the basement the other day though! No miscellaneous materials boxes are left.

They will certainly keep! :)

I'm aiming to do two rows per day on one project (the yarn is really grabby, and I don't have knitting callous, it starts to hurt if I try and do more), and I'm aiming for at least one bit of sewing on the so nearly done quilt project - did a bit of each. And, because I'm writing this kinda from the future (as in I'm writing up yesterday's achievements on the right dated post but on the next day) today's goals are 'same amount of knitting, can I do all the sewing'.

... Having written that, I'm off to do a line of sewing.

And done on the sewing. On the order of 5-10 minutes, checked it for loose threads, checked for unquilted edged (none!), and have now put it in the quilting hoop, which is going to be the display frame. Need to gather the back edges so that it hangs properly, but it is much closer to done!

The Maths (TM) say that I'll need 14 balls of yarn for this jumper and I've only got 8? oh well time to adapt the future stripes' length and go buy a few more second-choice balls. (Aw crap.)
