Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: If you're making any, what are your crafting resolutions for 2025?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

So sorry to hear the pattern still hadn't turned up but hopefully the new order will arrive promptly.

I worked a lot on my girl doll: finished the arms and the legs and did the cute little purple shoes with the pink buttons. Originally, I wanted to make shoes with a rounded toe but my only piece of fitting felt didn't allow that. So the doll now has square-toed sandals, but they look cute even so, if I say so myself.

I found an 'easy lacy belt' to crochet online for free. I've made it up tonight. I'm contemplating repeating the pattern on the other side and then folding it in half and catching it together - I'm thinking that might make it a bit more stable and likely to hold the dressing gown closed. I'm also wondering about doing another row to make it a little wider. If I do decide to repeat it so I can fold it, then I have to make the decision whether to keep working in this colour or whether to make it up in a contrasting colour. Decisions, decisions!

I've also started a latch hook rug - I've only done one row so far so quite a lot further to go.

I've also spent a bit of time organising all my supplies and projects for the knitting/crocheting or cross-stitch projects and trying to decide which to do when. Does anyone else have a problem with unfinished projects or am I the only one whose attention flits? I'm sure I'm not alone in ending up with lots of spare supplies.

I haven't done latch hooking in...maybe 20 years?...but I remember it being a really satisfying process! Enjoy!

I've been in a knitting slump for a while now. I'm trying to look for a new pattern to get me back into it again. I've been looking at the emotional support chicken pattern but its paid. I don't have funds for it atm. I think I need a fairly simple pattern that I can work on in the evenings. I think I want to dig into my stash & find a yarn to play with and then find a pattern to knit based on that.

The Emotional Support Chicken is a very cute pattern. This free pattern is kind of similar, if you feel like that might scratch the itch! :)
