Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: If you're making any, what are your crafting resolutions for 2025?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Well, lots of writing is good, too.

You must have maxed out your arm warmers! I had to take mine off because I was scraping them too much along the current project and slowing me down.

Yay, writing! *cheers* Seems you are all set on arm warmers for keeping your arms warm while you write so there is hopefully no rush on you to get back to crafting. Or is there?

The physiotherapist lady took a look at my as-yet unfinished little monkey rag doll and commented that he looks like the older brother of the Polish animated series for children, Bolek and Lolek. And she was actually right! The series was a great favourite in my childhood and had a renessaince in her childhood, so we both realized the similarity. So, my experimental rag doll isn't a monkey, after all, but a character from an animated series. What a career!

Today, I finally made his other foot and finished his scarf. Only the baseball cap is left, and then he can pose for a photo. *g*

I wanted it to be a girl - rather consciously, I'd say. I just forgot the ears, added them afterwards and they got so large that they resembled of sails. *g*

Ha, that's fun! I will look forward to seeing him.

Soon, I hope. :)

Ooooh, that is so cute! I wonder whether you were subconsciously aware of the connection much earlier. Very adorable either way. I can't wait to see him! XD

No, originally it was supposed to be a girl doll, I just messed up its face with the big ears and whatnot. I'll post a pic as soon as his cap is done.

Ah yes, I remember now. Maybe after you realised it had to be a boy doll instead... Very cool coincidence otherwise! :D

I'm 2.5 rounds away from finishing the basket. It was feeling like a slog. I did a row earlier, measured, and realized I was at the point to add the handles. Reinvigorated, I'm getting it finished off.

Has been very cold here after a warm day that turned the 14 inches of snow into a huge mess. So there's been that to do. Plus I'm making excellent progress on the Great Basement Organizing.

Wow, a basket sounds like a lot of work. No wonder it was feeling like a slog. Very cool that you realised you are much further along than you thought. Hope you have another great day of crafing ahead of you tomorrow.

Oh, yeah, here in my part of Germany, we get less snow but it nearly always melts and then creates icy sludge and regular ice or black ice overnight. Hope your weather improves soon from the mess it is now. And I hope you get a lot of progress on that basement while the bad weather lasts!

Making progress on the basement is definitely one benefit to the weather! It is going better than I expected.

Wow, you've made better progress than you had expected! That's great. And the GBO sounds like a lot of work. I'm doing my decluttering in small units, shelf after shelf and drawer after drawer. It will probably take me so long that when I'm done I'll have to start anew, but that's all I can manage in these days.

I just finished the basket and think I will make an extra post to put the photo in.

I was up much earlier than expected today and was procrastinating on starting studying and chores as well as paperwork. Clearly the best course of action was not to tackle any of those tasks on my to do list but to start crafting instead, LOL. Long story short, I decorated 10 envelopes and in the process used up one large sticker sheet. That was very satisfying! I have a ton of stickers still to craft with so no worries on that front.

The happy ending is I got done all my necessary tasks in studying, chores and paperwork as planned. Tomorrow is going to be busy with studying and more paperwork but at least my little spontaneous crafting session didn't put me behind on my work, hehe. So overall, it was a lovely day.

Paperwork is the *worst.* Though you skipped over it to papercrafting. :D Glad you could do some craft and not be behind on everything else.

Extra post because I finished the basket! It's about 12 inches tall. Will get it washed and ready to be handed off to my cousin.
