Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: If you're making any, what are your crafting resolutions for 2025?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Ooooh, that looks so pleasing to my eye! Very good idea about varying the height of the books slightly. :D

That is awesome! Looking good!

Finally wrote a letter and calculated the amount of decorated envelopes I have left and the number of letters I have waiting for a reply. Both are 6, which pleases me immensely. Those should last me until lectures finish and I can decorate more. So happy about that!

It was indeed very satisfying but I still added more pre-decorated envelopes today in a rather spontaneous burst of crafting.

I wouldn't mind another burst of crafting tomorrow but only if like today it does not affect my to do list tasks, hehe.

That is quite serendipitous for the amount of letters and envelopes to line up so! My pen-pal wrote me a while back and I still need to reply but the whole family has been under the weather and I just haven't had the mental energy...

Tatted a bit today but am almost out of thread on the bobbins so I need to reload. Also I crocheted a bit. Since I'm using scrap yarn it's a bit hit or miss, whether the current ball of yarn will make it to the end of a row, so I'm gambling a bit, but these days crocheting is just about all I have mental energy for. No writing is happening, not even letters to pen-pals. Sorry, pen pal!

Finished the surcote but now seriously thinking of embroidering a row of bands onto it which will be time consuming.

Started a new kirtle while I thought about it.

My new sample is done! Now I'll have to throw it in with the next laundry batch to see how the yarn holds up in the wash? It's my first time knitting with a nice merino wool and I'm not sure how it'll behave.

Nothing yesterday, because I grabbed a crochet project to take with me to the convention I'm attending, only to discover there is no crochet hook in that bag. Collected a crochet hook over night, got to the convention and I have no idea what I did with the project bag, but it wasn't there. However, I'd also taken a ball of yarn to make a water bottle carrier (I was not comfortable with a glass bottle being carried around willy-nilly), and got that made over the course of several hours. I have a photo, it is kinda cute.

I find it so hard to sit and listen without something do to with my hands!

Thank you! I'm still debating if I also want to backstitch the books but I think the varied heights are good enough for now. :)
