Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Pattern hasn't arrived, so no crafting again.

Instead I'm playing at threesentenceficathon which is fun.

I have to redo my sample once again because *facepalm* I was using my circular needle but I forgot that I was knitting "flat" and that I would need to purl at some point and accidentally did a few rows in garter stitch instead of stocking.

How annoying for you! A little practice and you'll remember to purl on alternate rows.

The worst thing is, a few rows in I did remember, knitted several rows of stocking stitch without thinking much, then looked back and wondered "uh, why is the junction between the ridges and the stocking part looking all wonky? like one funny row would be normal but..?"

Hi! New member here, fleeing the Metaverse back to the old familiar DW, and looking for crafty community as well as fandom, etc.

My main hobby right now is cross-stitch, and I am doing pretty well this week. I managed to get started on my "Primitive (Lascaux) Horse" pattern again; I had so many frogging events until my eyes got used to the colors and symbols again. Also working on Satsuma Street's Primavera. I hope to finish this one by the beginning of March, since I finished Invierno several years ago, and I want to get all four seasons set up to change out in rotation.

I do set goals each year for my crafting; found out two years ago that I have ADHD, and OMG, so many things about my life make sense now. :D BUT, one thing that helps is making lists and setting some goals--fluid, of course, but it does help me to have a deadline and/or at least a goal to shoot for. There will be a to-be-done-did post eventually in my account, listing most of them.

And now I need to find some stitching icons!

Summer is my cross stitching time, when I have better light, right now I'm supposed to be knitting but I've stalled due to reasons.

Both of your designs look like they'll be fun to stitch. I particularly like the cave painting one, that's such an unusual subject, and should look very effective.

Goals can be very useful, as long as they don't end up causing stress.

I've also done more cross stitching than usual. I'd love to see the Lascaux Horse pattern, if you've got a picture! I love cave paintings.

I finished the trousers of the rag doll and started knitting a scarf for him, in the hope that it might help fixing his wobbly head a bit.

I didn't get around to doing any crafts on my Monday off but I did convince my friend to double what she's charging me for a custom doll because she was hugely underpricing herself.

Well done! People do tend to undercharge friends for handmade items.

She said it wouldn't take that long and I reminded her that it's taken 20+ years for her to get that fast!

I asked for this mouse doll with a green robe - I want a doll of Matthias from Redwall. Probably I could buy something online but I like the idea of paying my friend instead.

My number one goal is to finish a sweater I started over 2 years ago when my dad was receiving hospice here at home. It's just a matter of picking it up and working on it. It's not even a hard pattern.

I also have another sweater kit I want to make and a cowl kit.

My big goal is to turn what was my father's bedroom into a craft room by the end of the year.

Having a craft room will be great. It's sad you had to lose your dad though.
