Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Michaela, of course, and I think Sam has potential. Oh, and the footballer surprised me, he did better than I was expecting. The others, I'm not so sure. How about you?

Looks like we both had the same thoughts about the contestants! Great minds and all that.

Indeed! Like you, no favourite yet, I want to see the rest of them skate before I even start thinking in that direction. It's a shame one of the contestants got injured in training though. It must have been awful to train so hard and then break her ankle.

So having finished the cards, I decided to move on to finishing some crocheted socks. On getting the project out, I discovered the wool had got tangled and the second page of the pattern was missing. I spent tonight's episode of D0I untangling the wool ready to continue and then when it had finished I went on a thankfully successful hunt to find the second page. I am particularly thankful as I have two pairs of socks to finish, one of which has a completely finished first sock and part of a second, the other is a little trickier - it doesn't look like there is quite enough for the socks to be the full length they are supposed to be, so I've stopped the first one part way up and started the second sock then at least when I reach the point where they are equal, I'll be able to grow them at the same rate so at least they'll be the same. I'm not sure if it's the colour mix in the wool but they are looking more like a pair of loose bedsocks whereas the first pair looks like a pair of properly fitted hiking socks (which is what the pattern is supposed to be). I'm ready to get going now - not sure I'll get any done tonight as I'm going to do a half hour ironing but maybe tomorrow.

Oh, how annoying and frustrating! Glad you managed to sort the tangles and find the resat of the pattern.

Well, even if you do end up with one pair of hiking socks and a pair of bedsocks, and least you'll have cosy feet.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the DoI contestants next week. There are several new professional skaters, and I already have trouble remembering who is who, so I suspect I'll be completely lost this year!

I quite liked Sam from Corrie - he seems like a nice guy and I was impressed by what he did. I also liked Michaela - really impressed by her. I also liked Anton Ferdinand, he seemed like he was going to give everything a good shot. I don't have a favourite yet but at the moment those three are contenders for my favourite contestant (if not for actually winning).

My other achievement of the day was ordering a new crafting light as mine gave up the ghost (as did my bedside light which was similar but in a smaller size) There's no way to change the fuse or the bulb so there doesn't seem to be anyway of fixing either sadly but I've found something similar with good reviews and the features that I like so fingers crossed all will be well.

It's so annoying that so many things these days you can't simply replace the bits that don't work. Hope the new lamp with be what you need.

My husband got me a crafting light for Christmas and it's been so nice, I don't think I could go without one again! I hope the new one works out for you!

I've sewn together Little Monkey Boy's trousers. All I still need to make for them are the suspenders. He starts looking fairly dapper in his nice, stripped trousers, despite the wobbly head and the disproportional body parts. *g*
