Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: If you're making any, what are your crafting resolutions for 2025?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

That's a shame. Hopefully Monday will be the day.

How annoying! Let's hope it does arrive on Monday indeed.

That's disappointing.

Has anyone ever knitted or crocheted a belt? I need to make a belt for a dressing gown that didn't come with one, it doesn't need to be anything fancy just a basic straightforward straight belt. I'm just wondering if I'm best to try and do the rows as the width of the belt or the length? Sitting here now I can think of pros and cons to both so thought I'd ask to see if anyone has any experience.

I haven't done it, but one of my friends often crocheted belts. She favored antique buckles and would start on the buckle end. Her's where generally around 2" wide. I thinks she used yarn, not cord, to make them, but I bet cord would work and stretch less.

I've seen knitted/crocheted belts lined with fabric to help prevent excessive stretch.

My little monkey boy/rag doll is making progress. He has now his head and both arms firmly attached (well, the head is a bit wackelig), so I can move on to the trousers next. Still no idea how I'll manage the shoes and the cap, but I'll try.

Still making progress!

Finished row 92 on the blanket!

Nope! It's finished when it's finished. I'm very much enjoying having a low-pressure project.

I finished my first cat bed of the year and started the second.

The cat beds are very sweet!

After just using the spare room as a bit of a dumping ground while I've had the knees to deal with, I had a good spring clean in there last night, so feeling good about that. I've managed to get buttons on to the sleeves of the kirtle that I cut other buttons from and that's another job ticked of the list.

Last day of my holidays (sigh) so I dabbled making a few more little cards since it was dark and rainy outside. Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, another year of back to being too tired for writing and crafting. Sigh.

I've started doing samples for my future jumper *again*. Because each previous time I did I didn't take notes, put it aside, and by the time I picked the project up again I'd forgot so it was no real use.
