Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: If you're making any, what are your crafting resolutions for 2025?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Will you enjoy making the sweater or having it to use when you’ve finished? Is there part of it that you can work on while watching DoI as it’s almost that time again? In which case I’d say go for it and then you can peruse patterns for a jacket at your leisure and have it ready for when you’re done?

Right, you definitely need more arm warmers to sew up. *g*
What is Dol, by the way?

Still struggling with my monkey boy aka the rag doll. I've fixed the way too short neck today (or so I hope) and finished the arms. Currently I'm working on the sleeves of the T-shirt but am running into problems with every new task. Part of the problem is the botched-up pattern, of course, but the fact that I can't properly use a sewing machine doesn't help. Plus, the original poster of the YouTube video used a hot glue gun to fix a great many parts, which I refuse to do (not safe for small children), so I have to come up with my own ways to sew those same parts on, and my own ways depressingly often don't work. Today I had to de-attach the one arm two times until it looked at least marginally natural. *sigh*

Just before NY I started a mitred square blanket. I've been knitting on it since. Getting back into a regular (but not necessarily daily) crafting practice is high on my list. My mental health requires it!

I jumped into it without a solid plan, but at the moment I'm adding squares and getting a feel for the dimensions of the squares. Soon I need to math it out (and also map out the color patterning) for the rest of it. I'm thinking sofa blanket, so probably somewhere in the range the size for a single bed.

So I finally went back to embroidery today and I was so happy about it... and I made myself carsick? Has this ever happened to anyone? My inner ear has been bothering me lately, and I guess the fact that I was concentrating so hard... idk? Anyway, I was so carsick when I stopped that I vowed not to embroider again for another six months 🤣 Back to knitting since I don't have to look at what I'm doing to do that
