Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: If you're making any, what are your crafting resolutions for 2025?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Once centimeter of knitting happened today!
This year I'll finish the scarf for my friend and hopefully do my new jumper and I'm not planning any other project in advance; they'll happen anyway.

Today is celebrated as Sherlock Holmes' birthday so, per my tradition, I made an epiphany tart (jam tart, this year was strawberry and apricot) and did a collage. May the game always be afoot.

Day 3 of 3 days off in a row concludes this evening. It's also the second day in a row of no letter writing. Oh well, I knew right from the start that my goal of getting my reply pile to 0 during Christmas holidays off from uni would be very ambitious so it is not surprising that it has failed. Who knows when I may next get to write a letter as exam prep season has officially started and that is usually when I fall very behind on letter writing. Now at the start of it, I am already behind, even "past my comfort zone behind". It does help that all my remaining penpals are very understanding about delays, hehe. Any goal setting in this area would be counterproductive so I am just going to leave it up to chance when my next letter writing session will be. XD

Small step it is. No need to put any undue pressure on yourself.

I had an unpleasant day (dealing with authorities always is), so not much time remained for good things. The only thing I did for fun was to stuff both doll bodies, so that I'd be able to fit the clothes next.

BTW, I'm considering to relearn knitting by making cardigans for the dolls. With such small pieces it is less frustrating when I have to undo them. *g*

Hi, I'm new here!

I'm trying to get back into knitting, which was my gateway craft hobby but which I abandoned years ago for being too complicated. I want to knit socks, so I'm re-teaching myself the basics of circular knitting with a pair of hand warmers. I'm still early on in my first one, but I'm getting back into the swing of it - no longer cursing myself with every stitch :)
