Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: No question this week.
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Today, I got 2 more rows done while watching Poirot. I was going to go for a third, but I'm too worried about the feral cat that hangs out in our garage. He ran off earlier today and last time he got scared like that, we didn't see him for a week. The continuing storm is not helping.

Some reasonable progress yesterday and today. Yesterday I sewed the last of my hexagons into the patchwork, removed the cardboard, and pinned all the layers together for quilting. I also made steady progress on the applique project I shouldn't have started (but it is a single block, and I'm using it as practice for the tablecloth that I want to do a good job on). I now have all the pieces cut out, although the adhesive on the paper that is supposed to have transferred to the fabric doesn't appear to have done so for many of them, so that will have to be revisited tomorrow. And in my sorting of yarn and fabric I found a couple of balls of yarn suitable for adding interesting to the Neapolitan Icecream blanket, which is now over 80cm across -- did a couple of rows while friends were over playing board games. And! I've made progress on the experimental arm warmer (experimental because I'm not sure whether I'm going to like it, so I'm playing with some ideas. Had to frog a bit due to swapping to moss stitch part way through a row, but have refreshed my understanding of frogging, and am now much faster at it. Got caught up the bits I frogged and then some.
Still not reaching the 'finished' on any of the active project that would give me space to move on to the large project that is waiting for space (and which is overdue, and slightly stressing me out, and I have two others with the only one not yet late having a deadline of April)

I did that halfway through an arm warmer row the other day and had to undo most of a row. It happens to us all. Glad you managed to frog it back and re-do it.
Good luck with the other projects so you can clear yourself some space to work.
Eep! Deadlines!

Deadlines are the worst! If only people would wait until I was done to have birthdays :)
The second yarn I picked for the arm warmers feels so nice. And I've found a nice grey / black mix that would do nicely for more, if it turns out I / other family members like them. And, as we are heading into the hot weather, I have lots of time before we need them.

Ooh, sounds perfect! Lucky you, heading towards hot weather while I sit here gazing out at snow two months earlier than we should get it. Hopefully you will be stocked up with arm warmers by the time it turns cold again.

I do prefer the warm weather, and we don't get anything like the cold you do -- we are a 'never snows' location. Partner, who was raised in Canada, commented that today was 'the only cool one for the week' and then that that felt like such a strange statement, when the forecast was 25°C!

Sub-zero temperatures are wild! This is a good temperature, although I do kinda prefer 30C. It will almost certainly hit 40C before the end of February, but we might get a cooler summer than last year, and not get that in December and January.
