Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: No question this week.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

As somebody said here, shopping for craft supplies is a hobby in itself. :)

It sounds like you made a fairly decent haul.

Congrats on another arm warmer :)

I've finished my third little angel today (photo coming up tomorrow), the pink and pale purple one. Not that the pale purple looks so much different from the pink, it being tulle and all that. I also experimented with a different, more fluffy yarn for the hair, and as a result my little angel now looks like Marie Antoinette with butterfly wings - but it's a good look on her, so I don't really mind. *g*

Also, I used some tinned sweet corn for today's lunch, so tomorrow there will be another pencil holder, I guess...

Thanks. This will be a glued one, no sewing included, so it ought to be done within the hour or even faster. I love quick and easy things from time to time.

i'm curious about your angels! are they all for a specific project?

Yes. The school where I worked for 24 years (until my retirement) organizes a charity fair in early December each year. It's always for some childcare institution: children's hospitals, special education schools and the likes. You can see a few pictures here if you are interested.

Good luck with the pencil holder.

a few weeks ago my 6yo's blåhaj stuffy (named sharky) got one of its fins stuck in the washing machine door and horribly mangled as it remained stuck for a whole wash cycle. he was talking about it before bedtime and i asked if he wanted me to fix it. got the damaged bits tucked in and slip-stiched it closed. he watched with wide eyes the whole time and held sharky's other fin so he wouldn't be afraid, then cuddled him tight as he fell asleep.

Oh, good job rescuing Sharky! I assume you are your son's shining hero now. :)

Poor Sharky! It's great you were able to save him. Your son is very thoughtful to hold Sharky's other fin so he wouldn't be afraid.

Yesterday, I glued things into the art book until I ran out of the medium we are using as an adhesive.

I also knitted a couple rows on the wingspan shawl. It's gotten so wide, it is taking me 45 minutes to knit a row on average.

Today, after I double checked everything in the art book was dry, I cut a bunch of cardboard to protect the covers and used 4 borrowed c-clamps to clamp the book shut until next workshop session. It does shut on it's own, but I'm trying to encourage the pages to flatten back out.

I also knitted about 15 rows on the eclectic cable scarf.
