Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: No question this week.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Losing friendly neighbours is a sad thing. You never know who will move in instead of them. At least they were happy with your work.

Allow yourself a break after such a hard day. You've deserved it.

That is a lot.

I hear you on the Halloween set up and take down. I'm convinced our neighbors that do the haunted house every year must secretly have magic elves helping them or something.

Well done on the arm warmers.

That's wonderful your neighbors liked their arms warmers. It's a shame to lose good neighbors.

I hope you are feeling at least a bit better.

Magic elves would be so helpful.

Fingers crossed

That's good.

I did a bit of writing, started the second angel (made good progress, BTW), cooked lunch - and totally forgot taking a picture of the finished cards. Ah, well, tomorrow is another day.

Photos are coming up tomorrow. I've already taken them. :)

Well done!

Last night, between trick or treaters and late into the night, I managed to not only write a Stargate Atlantis fic that was over a thousand words by hand, but also after rereading it, I discovered it fit not only Spook Me, as I had intended, but 5 other challenges as well. And by some miracle I got it typed on my phone TWICE, posted to AO3, edited, in the 6 appropriate collections, and posted to 5 DW comms that all use different posting criteria/headers (again, all on my phone) by midnight. And I only messed up one header, (that I still need to fix). It was a feat I shall never replicate or best.

Today, I knitted on the eclectic cable scarf for a few rows. I'd intended on writing for a few minutes for MiFuNoSo at ushobwri, but it's not happening.

I also did the last little bit of post bingo hosting stuff at allbingo (it's creative/crafting adjacent xD), got the names of who made bingo to the friend who makes the banners for us, and signed up to host again next year.

There is more I want to share, but I'm suddenly exhausted.

Thank you!

I will not let it beat me! LOL.

You can do it!!

We had quite a few, mostly older kids, which was a surprise, but with the off and on storming we probably only had half as many as last year. So much leftover candy.

Thanks!

You're getting there!

They are. I'm not sure why some people are so down on them. Most of it is gummy bears so... Yeah. It's probably not going to survive the end of the year. It used to be our normal weather that the big storms would start around Halloween (and you planned your costume accordingly), but it's been tame the last few years.

XD

XD They are popular with me at least. Also because it was the Haribo trick or treat pack, there are also many packages of sour gummy bats. ;)

It is indeed that.

They are amazing! The sour is incorporated into the flavor of the gummy, instead of being a powder on the outside of it. They taste like the fruit they are supposed to, except lip puckeringly sour. They also come in 2 sizes - the gummies in the tiny trick or treaters size packets are a little bit bigger then the eraser on a pencil, but in the 4oz packs, the bats are about 7.6 cm long and 2.5 cm tall, and the wings and body are 2 different flavors.

Sadly, Haribo only puts them out at Halloween.

They are so good!

Could we have a link - any link - to that fic, please? I'm a devoted SGA fan and want to applaud you to your mighty feat.

On the one hand yay Finally! a friend is asking me to knit them a scarf, similar to the first one I did for myself.
On the other hand I just lost said scarf. It wouldn't take very long to redo it But. The purple yarn I used back then as since been discontinued. The first substitute I found for it, too. The second one depends either on a 800 km trip to my parents' home region or on ordering online--with uncertainty on the exact colour and added shipping fees. Or, I could use the third substitute yarn I'll be using for their scarf too, but I'm not entirely happy with its hue.
