Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
Today's Question: No question today.
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Also got an hour in the garden, although it was a lot colder than the forecast claimed. I didn't mind the overcast sky, but could have done without the cold wind blowing in my ear. Anyway, I did some work on the big buddleia, less than half done, but still progress. Spent a while wrestling with part of it because although I sawed through a big branch (about three inches diameter) to the last tiny bit, the darn thing didn't want to let go no matter which way I moved it and I couldn't saw through the last bit because the weight above was trapping the saw blade. I won the fight in the end though. 7 feet of buddleia weighs less than you'd think, but it's a bit unwieldy.

The buddleia isn't going down without a fight!

Supposed to be warm here tomorrow. I'm hoping to do a *little* pruning.

Pruning is good, although when I do it, it almost never ends up being a little... Have fun!

That's why you need several craft projects on the go at once, so there's always something that's manageable. I'd imagine the afghan is quite heavy.

Small wonder though - I'm interrupted near constantly. Was working on a flower & just stopped until husband & brother get settled. They are going to watch a movie.

Also spent much of the day in the garden. Built another bed in the overgrown area (which involves weeding out years of established wood geranium, digging up the earth so it’s not compacted, and then collecting/laying the stones around the beds). I have a feeling I’m going to be fighting off wood geranium for years....
Someone usually recommends some sort of “no dig” solution to me at this point. I like the idea, but the wood geranium really needs removing (it’s like bamboo, it’ll just come back up somewhere), and it’s all on a slope so erosion is a big problem. Earth on top of cardboard or whatever is just going to slide. In a few years I may look at raised beds and terracing, but first I need to get that geranium network out. This year, I just want to try to grow some stuff ^_^

Some geranium species are seriously pernicious. I have Geraneum Phaem (the really dark purple flowers that're almost black), all over what should be my lawn. It's a nice plant, but the seeds ping and then the sort of corms develop and they're just a devil of a job to dig out. I'm going to have another bash with the lawn weed and feed stuff in a couple of weeks. There's everything but grass in the lawn.
Good luch with eradicating the wood geranium, and being able to grow some stuff!
