Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

It was raining when I got up but it brightened up later, so I nipped outside, swept the path as best I could since it was still quite wet in places, dug up some more roots, including one from the edge of the lawn... That's something I need to do, there are quite a few docks in the lawn and the best time to try getting them out is while the ground is wet. These are plants that have been growing bigger and bigger for years, so it probably won't be easy. I'll try anyway. If it makes a mess of the lawn... *shrug* It's a mess anyway, more weeds than grass.


I sewed up another pair of arm warmers, pinned the last finished pair ready for sewing, and added another 26 rows to the one I'm currently knitting. Just 20 rows left on that one. I would have liked to do more but my thumb is not happy, from all the wringing out of cloths when defrosting the freezer.

I could actually do that, I have 10 colours of yarn to use... The 9 I bought yesterday, and one I already had. Maybe I should start worrying.

What do you do with all the arm warmers? Though tbh, you can never have too many, right? :)

Wear them, lol! There are quite a few pairs in the laundry at present, and I keep a pair in the pockets of each of my coats so I've got them if I get cold while I'm out. Saves messing around trying to find some on my way out the door.

I've finished the big cleaning, and while I'm fairly dead on my feet, at least this means I won't have to do it again for the next two weeks. *is relieved* Not much me-time was left, naturally, but I did a good bit of writing and decorated three more little gift boxes, so I'm well content. Resting is overrated when creative efforts need to be made!

I'm trying to write at least a little each day - especially now that it goes smoother than it has for a long time. I hope the momentum will last. *fingers crossed*

Finished the buttons! Now to do a ton of buttonholes for them and then sew them on, but I did finish making them! woohoo!

They are pretty! But making buttonholes is a real punishment. The few ones I had to make for a pillowcase in 5th term have put me out of the idea of doing anything with buttons.

Having poked at ideas yesterday, I've committed to what I'm going to appliqué on to the damaged tablecloth, and taken the tracings from the pattern book. This is going to be a much bigger project than the original plan, but I'm okay with that. Still tossing up whether to do hand or machine appliqué, so I haven't cut the pattern pieces out.

Coincidentally, I have a lovely pile of fabric pieces that just needs ironing, and should be what I need for the project. Also, I cleared a table, so I have space to do layout. Much better than the floor -- I did the first half of the tracing sitting on the floor, and that was a Bad Idea.

Yay for having the tablecloth planned out! And plenty of fabric for the applique.

I used to do everything sitting on the floor, but these days tables are my friends. Floors are hard to get up from.
