Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Miserable weather today, grey and rainy, so I couldn't do any gardening. Instead, I stayed indoors, did some writing, and some cross stitch. The rest of the leaves are finished, and most of the last rose. All that's left to do is the darkest shade of pink on all three roses, and the backstitch. Yay!

It's nice to make more progress on it, but I can't help wishing I could have continued with my work in the garden. The weather is going to get colder and stay wet over the coming week. =(

Gnome prototype

As you can see, it can do with some improvement. These things never turn out so perfect as they look on the lid of the DIY kits, and the instructions are usually rubbish. But the little guy is quite pretty, IMO. I'll have to do something about its arms and legs, and the body ought to be less flat, but other than that...



It also inspired me to the beginning of a children's tale about tiny forest creatures. What's already there can be read on my LJ.

Thank you! I hope I'll get somewhere with the story, so that I can turn it into a handmade book for young children who then can colour the pictures and all that. Eventually.
