Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

The weather today hasn't been pleasant, gusty winds and drizzling rain, so I stayed in. No cross stitch done, but I've finally finished sorting out the mess of html coding in all my master lists, which has been an ongoing job for over a year. The number of font size changes, many of them between entries as well as within entries, was ridiculous.


The insects nesting in the garden are NOT wasps. I did some investigating online, comparing sizes and habits, and I'm almost certain they're Ivy Bees. It's the right time of year for them, they're active between August and November, when Ivy is flowering and I have a lot of ivy in flower right now. Ivy Bees are also very small, only 1cm long, which is why I was having trouble seeing them as they zipped back and forth. I'm delighted to have such sweet little bees in my garden =)

Thanks. I have very limited web skills, learned through trial and error, comparing messy coding with nice, tidy coding. The problem was doubtlessly caused by the master list posts having been started ten years or more ago, updated on various different computers, squeezing new entries between existing ones to keep everything in alphabetical order. I literally ended up with coding for medium font, then small font, then medium again, in between entries. At one point I even had bold text turning off, on, then off again between lines o_O At least I've learned to recognise a few bits of coding and whether or not I really need them.

Getting there

... slowly but steadily. I went online to make notes for various kinds of little angels, all made of toilet rolls. Not that I'd need more stuff for the fair, but I like to try out new things. Meanwhile, the half-finished embroidered card is still waiting for its turn.

Tomorrow I'll do some cooking, I swear! *And* some crafting, although no idea yet what. I'll decide in the last moment, I guess.

It's that time of year, I think. So many things you want to try, but deciding on what to work on can be hard.

Especially when your time is so limited. But when the cooler weather comes (it is promised to happen next week) I won't have to let the blinds closed in the afternoon and might be able to sneak in some crafty times after lunch. *fingers crossed*

I hope you get your cooler temperatures! I just wish it would stay warm here, because we're set to drop to 14C in a couple of days, with wind and rain, which means my house will feel like an icebox.
