Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

No cross stitch or gardening today, I was out all morning and too tired after I got back, because I cycled. I did find a few goodies in the charity shops though. Three big (150g) balls on a brown and pink variegated 4ply yarn that I hope at some point to make a summer top or cardigan from, a set of clear stamps — cats and dogs — a small corner punch, and a set of coasters that are designed to have cross stitch in them. There's even pre-cut pieces of aida included. Oh, and a wire wrapping kit. Not much wire in it, but all the tools are there, so I can have a go at that, when I can find time.

We've both been sick on top of everything else, I'm getting no crafting or garden stuff done either for days. Thought I'd poke my nose in.

Back from my vacation and I didn't do that pompon for my béret. Hopefully next time?
I picked up my black & red scarf where I'd left it and done quite a few rows.

I'd say my most essential piece of crafting equipment is a pair of double-point 4.5 knitting needles; I do most of my scarves on this gauge, and double-point being shorter they're easier to pack that regular needles if I want to take my knitting on a train/to the ciné club/at a friend's place for parallel playing/etc.

Great progress with the scarf!

That does sound handy for travel knitting. My problem with double-pointed needles is that my stitches tend to fall off the other end. How do you avoid that happening?
