Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

The warmer, sunnier weather we were supposed to be getting seems to have wandered away to somewhere else. Still, I shifted more coal, then spent some time cutting back brambles. And then, I found an Elephant Hawk Moth caterpillar wandering aimlessly across the concrete. For caterpillars, they're huge, a good 2 inches long, and almost a quarter inch across. I managed to persuade it to climb onto my gloved hand so I could take a closer look, but then it didn't want to get off again and just thrashed about when I tried to coax it onto a plant. Guess it liked my glove. They're quite weighty too.


Only good a small amount of cross stitching done. The light just wasn't good enough and I didn't want to strain my eyes.

Poor you! I tried to do some crossword puzzles in the late morning, but the sunlight was already so harsh that my eyes started tearing. The writing I did in the afternoon was done by the blinds closed and the lamp on. *sigh*

Lamps are good for writing by, but unfortunately not for crafting by.

We are having a HEAT WAVE with advisory here. Good day to stay inside the air-conditioned house and lounge about...

...except I have not been lounging about, I've been very productive today, including warning my Nerdopolis teammates that the End of Round approaches AND I wove another basic weave Zoom Loom square. Took me about an hour to weave it. Eyes are unhappy now but they're adjust.

I am continuing to not craft, in the hope that if I can just avoid temptation long enough, the irritated muscles around my elbow will settle down. If I could persuade myself to focus on any of the projects that aren't crochet, I could do one of them, but no, All! The! Crochet! is the current desire.

Isn't that always the way? The one thing you WANT to do is the one thing you either can't or shouldn't do/ Hope the elbow settles down soon. Are there physio exercises you could do to help the healing?
