Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Still feeling crap so I had another day indoors, and tomorrow the forecast is for heavy rain so I won't be going outside then either.


Making good progress on the second rose aside from taking a wrong turn somewhere and having to unpick and re-do a bit. Stitching roses is a bit like wandering through a maze, following one colour up, down, across, and back, into a dead end and out again... I think I finished all of the first colour and over half of the second colour. It's starting to look like a rose.

It's fun though, trying to find my way through the rose maze.

Hopefully a bit of rain will bring you some cooler temperatures. I could do with some more warmth. August should be warmer than this.

I don't want it to be 100F, but the temperature dropped so quickly (to 64F night after 100 day) it's given me an arthritis flare! It's weather whiplash.

Ouch! I sympathise, I'm feeling a bit achy from the sudden temperature drop here, and it's nowhere near as big a drop as you're dealing with. I can only imagine!

No crafting today yet, but I'll get back to my trivet after dinner if I have any energy left.

Mostly chores today. I did a finishing touch on the bathroom prep for painting, which I will hopefully be able to start in the morning.

Card #15 is finished. The design proved a lot simpler than it looked on the template, so I was relieved. Prepared the next one, using elements from two different templates, I hope it will work out.

You're really getting a lot of these done. It's reminded me I need to at least pick something for my holiday cards soon.

I finished a pair of easy fingerless mitts. I had less left to do today than I thought I did - about an inch of knitting, I'd say, and then the seaming.

I also did two rows on nephew's blanket.

I'm considering working on something else now, but eh, it's getting late and I am kinda tired, so probably won't.

Well done on finishing the mitts and making progress on nephew's blanket. Is there much more to do on that?

If I do two rows a day (which is one mosaic stripe), I can finish the second mosaic section in 11 days. Then there's another non-mosaic stripe sequence to do. I'm probably somewhere between two-thirds and three-quarters of the way done on the blanket, so still a bunch but not as bad as it could be.
