Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Made a bit more progress in the garden, when it stopped trying to rain, but this last bit is a mass of roots in what's supposed to be the lawn and all over the path, so it's not easy, plus I seem to have hurt one of my fingers, which means I'm having to be careful with my pruners. Not sure if it's a callus forming or if I've bruised the joint. Ow.


Started my next cross stitch project and this one is proving much more enjoyable than the last piece I stitched. I'm back on 18 hpi aida (the last 4 were on 20 hpi), and the designs are smaller, a set of beautiful roses. I've started the first one and I've already stitched the stems and most of the leaves, plus two rosebuds. Still got the rose itself and a few smaller leaves to do, plus the backstitch, but I think I might be able to finish it in a couple more days. The colours are lovely, this first rose is shaded orange and yellow.

Oh, your poor fingers! Cross stitch instead of pruners sounds reasonable.

Oof. Bruised joints are not fun. I hope it heals up for your soon. That bit of gardening sounds brutal.

Thanks. It truly is, and there's a lot still to do to clear it, including shifting a big rock that's fallen onto the path. I don't plan on battling roots today if I get out in the garden though. I'll work on something a bit easier to give my sore finger a rest.

They are! I love roses, and it's been a while since I stitched anything flowery.

I've finished Card #12 and pre-prickled the next two pieces. Tomorrow I'll be out of the house a lot, so it's good to do things in advance.

Well done! You'll be able to get on with the card stitching - when you next have time - without a lot of fiddling.

No crafting today. Actually, I spent all of last night and most of today bested by a headache. It's passed now, thankfully, and I have finished my reading challenge at least.

Thanks! I also found out much later that I actually won the goodie basket as well. Our reading challenge forms we turned in doubled as tickets for the raffle. I had forgotten about the raffle part and they had a hilariously difficult time getting ahold of me. For an example, the person who was in charge of contacting me spoke to me in person at the library where the prize was at length at least 3 times after I won, and it never came up, and still complained I was hard to get ahold of when he finally told me I won.
