Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I've finished the backstitch on the second pressed flower design! My thread broke several times, rustico aida can be a bit rough and I tend to use long pieces when backstitching, but I did it. A few minor mistakes on the leaf veining, but no one's going to notice. Even I can't tell if some stitches are in the wrong place. Green on green...


Also prepared more of my fabric pieces. Still a lot to do though, and I haven't even started cutting the cream fabric yet.

Thanks! I have a lot ready to stitch, the trick will be deciding what order to stitch them in... One pressed flower design to go, but it's my favourite of the three. Looking forward to getting started with it.

Yes, just something to go over a swimsuit! Don't go hunting too much, I've been working on this since last June, haha; this is the project.

Got a photo uploaded today - the little one is in charge of holding the measuring tape.

They look so cute together, Junior is adorable! And has an important job to do, keeping the measuring tape from getting lost.

I've re-done the sewing on the first satchel - it looks good. Still has to be filled and sewn closed and a piece of ribbon applied for the decorative bow, but the actual work is done. Lots of blanket stitches and decorative (as well as functional) running stitches got done on the other two satchels, but I still hope that my friend gets Louise in a cooperative mood and I will be spared the hand-sewing of the sides.

I feel bad posting here because I've pretty much just been going, 'Haven't done any crafting b/c health' for a month, but my asthma's bad enough right now, post-bronchitis and with this weather, that I'm on my nebulizer multiple times a day, so I'm way too jittery to do handwork. But I did organize some sewing patterns! Hoping to restart some projects, including that doll's dress, at some point this week.

Don't feel bad! I've been missing for weeks! Organising things in prep definitely counts. You can't make stuff if you don't know where your bits are.

Don't be too hard on yourself! Your health is more important than crafting and it's completely understandable to have your hands full with that. Well done on the organising, and I hope you feel much better soon so you can get going on something fun.

So sorry your asthma's kicking up, and never feel bad about posting here. We're here to support each other through the trials of not being able to craft as well as the craft successes. Who else can understand how frustrating it is when life and health interfere with crafting? *hugs*

I get that, I'm the same. Looking at things is really inspiring. *eyes stacks of cross-stitch magazines stuffed with pieces of cut fabric* I think I may have got a bit over-inspired...

I got almost the entire early 14th century gowne sewn (by machine as it's not reenactment clothing) and I'm pleased how shiny and feminine it is. You'd not guess it's made from curtain linings. Tonight hoping to make the rose crown that will go with it.
