Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: What's the most complicated project you've ever tackled?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I'm surprised your fingers want to cross stitch after bramble battles!

Oh good. When I mess with the roses I am usually all scratched up.

I love pressed flowers! I used to do them as a teenager!

No pleasant activities today. The cleaning help cancelled at the last moment, so I had to do the job all on my own, which pretty much ate the greater part of the day, and then I was simply dead.

Sorry you didn't have help! It seems like we all could use a little recently!

Cleaning requires a lot of preparation in our home as the flat is small and the furniture large. If I had known that I wouldn't have help, I would only have prepared certain rooms and do the job in two or three turns. But since everything was ready, I had to do the whole flat. *groans*

Oh no. But yeah, once you have the prep done you have to finish.

Other than catching up washing dishes, I had a rest day. Too many projects recently, and the dog is sick (she has antibiotics now), I'm done in.

I just finished the last stitch on the baby Yip Yip basket. Not sure if I will do the eyes tonight, will see after dinner.

A rest day is good when you have so much on your plate.

Copy and paste from Discord:

today's report: 3 rows on nephew's blanket. Flipping through a book on Zoom Loom weaving squares. Also, 14 repeats into first triangle for Plumeria. I've decided to keep at this needle size (size 1) even though my gauge is smaller than the pattern (pattern gauge is 20 sts in 4", so 5 spi; I'm getting about 6 spi). I'm using acrylic yarn and the skeins feel pretty heavy as it is and there is a LOT of yarn in this top, so it will probably be better knitted at a tight gauge. I will adjust the pattern to make it fit me.

This does mean I will use more yarn, so I just bought more off of Etsy, because I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have had enough otherwise

The book is "100 pin loom squares" by Florencia Campos Correa. It's out of print and goes for hundreds of dollars on the used book market, but luckily my library could get it via Interlibrary Loan. I'm planning on using some of my stash of leftover acrylic to weave the squares, then I will assemble into a blanket.

Yesterday I cut and pinned a medieval gown I need for the Medieval Festival Opening Ceremony this year, but thankfully, it's modern fabric and a sewing machine job. A day more should do it. The list of other jobs is getting bigger though. :)

That it will only take another day is good if you've a pile of projects before.
