Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: What's the most complicated project you've ever tackled?
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Also tested out the perle thread on the 11 hpi aida. Not going to work. The thread is too round and my stitches were lumpy and uneven. So I still don't know what I can use it for =/

Sad that the perle thread didn't work. If that is what I think it is, I used to use tons of it to make friendship bracelets. It's better than regular embroidery thread for that. Don't know how to use it in embroidery, though.

All I still need to do is to bind the book (which is considerably easier with paper books than with felt ones) and I'm done.

Yesterday and today, I've been working on catching up my pumpkin moods for moodthemeinayear. I'm happy to say, I've only got 10 left out of the 57 we've done so far. That is not counting the 3 new ones for this week I haven't looked at yet.
Yesterday was card making with Lynne. She was in genuinely good spirits. Her only complaints were she didn't like how the dog's haircut looked and how long her son's smoking breaks are. (I think he has wised up and has told her he's going on smoking breaks and using his cellphone out of sight, as while she doesn't like how long he's gone, she finds the smoking much more acceptable.) The only sort of glitch with the card making was in the week between my visits, Lynne's son accidentally broke one of the tape runners, which are in low supply and it had a lot of tape left in it, because of this, I spent some time making it useable while they were busy with their cards, even though it's not really fixable. (It works, you just have to manually make sure it ejects the spent plastic, not wrap around and adhere to the unused tape.) Lynne noticed this and got stuck on why would I fix it instead of just throwing it away. We were on a loop for a couple minutes until she managed to rephrase and ask why not just get a new one at the craft store and I gently reminded her the store closed 10 years ago and there isn't a new one. She was then able to move on.
After cards, her son showed me the supplies he found for 4th of July cards. He is REALLY set me designing a couple different ones for us to do together. I took pictures of what he found and I did some hunting of my own for coordinating supplies. Lynne kept trying to get me to take everything I touched home with me. I explained to her that it needed to stay there so we could make cards later. She did send me out the door with 2 empty scrapbook albums in the end.
Hopefully, I will come up with something.

At least with the fabric picked out you can start on the dress whenever you have the time and energy.
