Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: We all make mistakes - what's your most memorable crafting disaster?
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I've cut a piece of aida for the vase of anemones design, and prepared that and the piece I cut for the vase of tulips. Also got out all the threads for those two designs.
Dug out some more white 18 hpi aida and also cut pieces for another set of designs, 6 cartoonish tropical birds which look fun to do. Whole stitches only, not even any backstitch for those. Plus, I looked at some of the other designs I want to stitch and worked out the sizes of the aida pieces I'll need for each one. The oriental flowers designs I had intended to stitch at some point I've had to discard as it turns out they're full of fractional stitches, which won't work on 20 or 22 hpi aida. Not that I'm good at fractionals anyway, I try to avoid designs with a lot of them in. Still it's a pity. They're lovely designs.

And I've done a grand total of two rows on my scarf; it would not very nice to the guy on the seat next to mine on the train to pull out my knitting needles--even shorter, double-point needles.

Even two rows on the scarf is better than none. I'm sure the guy in the next seat appreciates not being poked with knitting needles.

Okay, that out of the way--still plugging along on the blankets. I have met my quota for Rebel Ripple (niece’s blanket) every day this month; I’m on track to finish on time, should I do 3 rows a day.
I also did a butt-load on Nordic Stripes (nephew’s blanket). I have a Race to the Top date (that's a Nerdopolis thing) of May 14th, because that is the day he is graduating. However, I’m not sure I will finish by that date. I’m gonna try, but… well, younger sister hasn’t said when his graduation party will be, so I likely have more time to finish his blanket (I think she would have let us known by now if it was in May.)
I’m doing GREAT but I am still overwhelmed, and I feel behind today because I didn’t work on nephew’s blanket at all today. Instead I messed around with making matching pillows for both blankets. Guess I needed to try something new? But AAAAHHHH!!! there’s a lot to do and I’m not sure I can keep up the pace I’ve been doing.
