Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

My stitching isn't as neat as when I work with a single stand, but I'm making good progress on the first Delft tile design. The border is dine and I'm halfway through the central motif. Hoping to finish this one tomorrow, it's the least interesting of the four.

It is good to deal with the boring parts first; you can enjoy the rest all the more.

It's not really boring, but the other designs are prettier with more colours. This hyacinth in green leaves and 4 shades of blue for the flowers. =/

Thanks! There really isn't much left to do on this one. One last shade of blue on the flowers, a tiny butterfly, and then the backstitch, so it should be doable.

I've made jam today: strawberry and spicy apple jam, seven jars all together.

Ever since jam fix showed up in the shops, I've been addicted to jam making. Since with jam fix I don't have to stand over a hot oven and stir the fruit for hours.

Mum was particularly impressed with the spicy apple one that has ginger, raisins and maple syrup in it. :)

Finishing my starfish pillow about 20 minutes ago. Now taking a snack and social media break, then diving back into the blankets. Will post photos of everything in my journal at the end of the month.

Did seven rows on nephew's blanket, which brings me to the halfway point on his! Well, pattern-wise anyway. As of now, it only measures 26 inches, which is 52 inches when the other half is done. Border will add maybe 2 inches, so total length will be 54" / 137 cm. A decent size, but a bit short, and nephew is TALL.

If time allows, I may add extra stripes onto each end of the blanket. But given that I have TWO blankets to crochet in a short time, I might have to just follow the pattern and give him a slightly short one.

Next time, I need to:
a) pattern match the back zipper line
b) lower the back neckline so my dragon can be seen


A couple of zipper bags sewn yesterday during a public holiday. One with a patchwork inside!


Today's plans: binding. Some binding. At last. BINDING.

Today's ending up being mostly errands after work, so no crafting, but! I picked this up on sale yesterday :D Planning on making a skirt, probably.

Yesterday was the monthly art book workshop. This month we made faux gel prints. The gel plates you normally use for printing were too expensive for the library's budget, but the person leading it discovered that a thin foam block in a sealed plastic bag works almost as good. It was a fun exercise, if a bit chaotic because of the number of people.

All, but one of the movies I'd had on hold with library came in as well. Funnily enough, the one movie that didn't come in was the one on the stitch-n-scream schedule for that day. Not that it mattered, I was going to swap with a different one, but by the time I was able to get settled to knit, one of my nephews was looking for someone to talk to and by the time we got off the phone, it was very much bedtime.

Today, I helped make up a spring holiday for one of the writing comms I mod and my comod and I each wrote up posts about it - one for the main comm and one for the info comm.

I also got back to stitch-n-scream, surprisingly I actually watched today's movie, whatever number that is, Oculus. I still have not finished the hat though. The strap I am working on currently measures out at 7 1/2 inches and it needs to be 9 1/2. I also fear I might be playing yarn chicken.
