Check-In Post April 23rd 2024

Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: We all make mistakes - what's your most memorable crafting disaster?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Worked a bit on pot holder #3. The piece is now sewn together and I'm doing the quilting right now. Then I'll have to be the seaming and sew on the hanging loop; I hope to finish the whole thing this week.

Frankly, it went better than expected, even though my fingers have started to hurt. But the biggest piece is still on my to-do list, which fills me with a vague feeling of dread.

Thank you. It is good to tick them off my to-do list.

Today:

  • Five rows on nephew's blanket.

  • Decided to call the bath pouf finished when I found a knot in the yarn, even though I hadn't completed the last round yet (I just tapered off the stitches, and it's plenty hyperbolic anyway.)

  • Made a facial scrubby.

  • Made dinner tonight (I'm not the normal cook).

  • ...misplaced hook for niece's blanket, and still haven't found it. SIGH.

Yesterday I only managed two rows on niece's blanket. A family member needed an urgent doctor's visit in the morning and I had to drive them (they're better now!), afternoon was my therapy appointment, and I streamed last night. So, a busy day.

Going to try to find that missing hook now, wish me luck!

I went back to stitch-n-scream and even watched today's movie, Polaroid. I'm still working on the hat, but I only have half of the second tie to knit, left.

The plan was for that to be it for the day, but when I was attempting to chill with Downtown Abbey: A New Era, my knitting somehow found it's way into my hands about halfway through the movie.
