Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: We all make mistakes - what's your most memorable crafting disaster?
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Before that, though, I had worked a bit on the baby book. Page #1 is more or less done; I still have to add the embellishments and glue the finished pockets on, but that's easy. I think I had hesitated this long with it because the original seemed so unnecessarily complicated and I didn't know how to simplify the design so that it would still look good. But I had a lightbulb moment in the morning, so it's good.

Also great that you got some more crafting supplies! Always best to buy things when you see them, otherwise the next time you look there won't be any.

Sounds like some good progress on the book, as well.

A crafting fail:
Years ago I wanted to make a teddy bear, c2c graphgan. The pattern called for Bernat Blanket, which I'd never used so I went with it. I'm mildly allergic to polyester. It has never been a problem with yarn but it turned out to be a problem with this one! I did finish the blanket, and even though I know it was cute I *hated* it.

You deserve to relax with your muppet basket.

Oh, gosh. Finding out your allergic to your own craft. Ahhhh!

Oof, that's an unfortunate allergy. My roommate's allergic to wool, which I didn't know until after I'd made her a scarf she couldn't wear, but basic scarves are way less effort than c2c graphgans.

Oh my, that sounds hellish.

I have way less crafting disasters than abandoned/forgotten projects. The ones that come to mind are a few sewing projects--back when I actually sewed xD--where I fudged up cutting the pieces and had to do sleeves or ruffles in a different fabric.

Sometimes a bit of contrast can be good, even if it wasn't supposed to be that way!

Stitch-n-scream is an annual event to mark the halfway point to Halloween. If you are signed up for the newsletter, you get a free pattern for the group crochet project (it's a house for a Halloween village this year) and there is a movie list, one for each of the 13 nights leading up to halfway to Halloween. You are free to do your own project and change the movie list for yourself if you want though.
