Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

No pictures yet, sorry. Things are not cooperating tonight so I was running behind already, but now LJ has gone down right in the middle of me posting a fic, which has kind of thrown a spanner in the works. I've got a whole bunch of windows and files open, but I can't do anything with them *sigh*

Anyway, thanks to smallhobbit, I now know where I can get Anchor threads. Hopefully I'll be able to order at least most of the ones I want. I've gone through all my threads and have a list of the ones I haven't got, now I just need to see how many I can afford...

Meanwhile, the tropical flowers cross stitch is coming along beautifully =)

LJ has done the vanishing act a couple of times lately, but it always came back after a couple of minutes. I've just accessed it, so let's hope it will come back for you, too.

It did come back eventually, but it took a good 20 minutes, possibly longer.

It really was, took about 20 minutes to come back. It went down right as I hit post so I lost everything and had to start again. Only copy and pasting, adding a cut, etc., but so annoying when I'd already done it all once. Just glad I was only posting one thing today.

Thanks! At the moment I'm stitching a big leaf in 4 shades of green. Only got the final shade to do, then I'm not sure if I'll move on to the flowers or another leaf.

I was being crafty this morning, putting all the pretty things acquired yesterday to good use. Here are the front and the back covers of the new baby book, respectively.



I got the inspiration from this YouTube video, but I can already see that my book will be very different. Not only because I can't get all those ready-made pretty embellishments, but mostly because my basic paper is so beautiful I want to glue over as little of it as possible. Still, I'm fairly content with the outcome.

They look lovely! It would be a shame to hide beautiful papers behind too many embellishments.

My thoughts exactly! The lace butterfly matches the pattern nicely, and so does the paper flower and the paper lace I've created with the help of a craft punch (finally figured out how to pace it to get a continuous pattern), but any more would have ruined the effect, IMO.

Thanks. Earlier on I've fought with that punch many lost battles, but for some reason this time it worked. All I had to add were the little touches with the pink felt-tipped pen.

Yes, the paper is already very nice.

It was sold as a baby-themed paper, which IMO it is not, but it is pretty nonetheless.

I'm trying to get started on a muppet themed hanging basket (something for me this time). It will be the fun one to hang next to the "bird nest" type I made a while back.

Muppet-themed sounds great! And making something for yourself can be nice for a change. :)
