Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: Where do you do most of your crafting?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

That colour concept can get depressing, soon. *g*

I love those colours! And they're perfect for owls!

Huzzah! It kind of hard to not make a long earred owl look at least a little evil.

Good luck!

Aw, that is too bad :(

Hooray for owl progress! I like when they look a little evil :D

I've finally finished binding the baby books, with only a few mishaps that could be corrected with some effort. And since another baby girl is on her way, in a third family, I've already started a new baby book. I'm not very enthusiastic about it (I'd have preferred a break from paper work), so I'll keep it fairly simple. But I've worked closely with the grandmother-to-be for decades, and she's a very nice lady, plus I was the class teacher of the mother and her twin, so I can't possibly leave them out, right?

That they do indeed!

Well done for getting the two finished! And it will be a special gift for the new mother for the one you are to make now. The little person getting it doesn't know you've made lots of others, so it will be special and loved.

Congrats on finishing the binding!

The mother will find it special, no matter how simple.

(So many babies!)

Yes, my friends or their children are rather industrious right now. *g*

LOL

Congrats on the finished ones! I'm sure the parents will appreciate your work for the new one as well.

I hope so! I made a rather elaborate one for the first child a year ago, so I have to come up with something pretty again, even if it's simpler.

Row 9/119 on the baby blanket done!

Also, as to where I do most of my crafting - I do have a multi-purpose office which I like to craft in, but on occasion I'll be on the couch in the living room.

100!

The couch is comfy, but especially when working on the beach cover-up I like to have the table to spread things out on in front of me. The cover-up is getting heavy and it's more annoying to knit on the couch without some support in front of me.

yay for baby blanket and I'm a fan of the couch!
Thursday, April 4th, 2024 08:00 am (UTC)
Well done!

Nice :)

Thank you!

WHERE DO I DO MOST OF MY CRAFTING: On the couch in front of the tv, tbh. I don't have TV but I enjoy rewatching favourite DVDs. :)
Thursday, April 4th, 2024 08:03 am (UTC)
Same! I should have added that part to mine, though my TV (sometimes) gets 4 channels, if I can the antenna in the right spot. The DVDs are preferable.

In crafting news, I'm working flat out on a bunch of different things and feel like I'm not making enough progress on most of them, which is just me wanting everything to be done at once. I've backdated a few posts on my page, but they are not particularly interesting as the photos aren't up yet. The only complaint I have about DW is it's tricky to copy and paste the photo links into posts on my phone. I hope everyone had a good Easter, and I will try to read back and see everyones Easter crafts and posts. :)

Good luck :)

Best of luck with all your projects!

I'm not sure what's wrong with me today, but something. Still, I managed to get settled into Lynne's house and I cut a bunch of bases for artist trading cards (atcs). I just kinda miss making them. I'm not sure how much of a plan I really have.

As for the question, at home, I work pretty exclusively from a little TV tray table. It's all I've really got to work at and I do pretty much everything there. At Lynne's, when we do our weekly crafting, we work at the dinning table.

I'm sorry it was an off day, but glad you did something fun even if it doesn't have a planned use.
Tuesday, April 9th, 2024 08:38 pm (UTC)
Thanks! X2

ATCs were really popular/trendy about 10 years ago, especially for craft exchanges, then they kinda disappeared again. I enjoy them though. The only rule is that they be 2-1/2 inches by 3-1/2 inches and no more than a quarter of an inch thick. They can be made of any medium.

Indeed! My tray table also has a tendency to rub it's blue stain off on things, if I'm not careful. The extra space is welcome.
