Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: If you were only allowed one craft, which would you pick?
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

If I could only do one craft, it would have to be knitting.

No, really? Who'd have thought? *g*

I'm not going to do more because my eyes are crossing and I think I'll tuck in early today too.
I think the only craft, as such, that I do is crochet, so, that's what I would keep. 😉

That makes it easier to choose =)

Of course, because you're so good at it!

Oh, and if I had to pick one craft, I'd *probably* pick crocheting, because I can do it while reading or watching TV, once I get used to a pattern. But I'd be tempted to go for sewing because I'm a Shorty McCurvyPants, so sleeves and hems are a constant issue.

Altering clothes so they fit doesn't count as crafting, only things that are enjoyable ;)

Only one craft? Ouch. I'd have to flip a coin between crochet and knitting. Or cheat and claim both as they are sibling crafts involving making loops over a stick. *wink*

I love the way you think!

Today was go to Lynne's and make a card day. I had designed nothing, but her son has brought up the die cut machines multiple times. (Lynne has 3 different ones.) So I had the "brilliant" idea of just winging something that used those. From the precut card bases, I picked a pink marble paper, just because we haven't made pink spring cards yet. Then I picked out two pads of scrapbooking paper that shouldn't go together, but weirdly work. I set Lynne's son to going through the embossing folders to pick a pattern while I found the flower die cutters. I had everyone pick a piece of paper from the pad of 1890s/early 1900s inspired designs (all in pinks & greens), cut them down to size, and let Lynne's son practice using the Cuttle Bug to emboss. Then I had everyone pick a sheet of paper from the pad of "floral grunge" themed paper and had Lynne's son practice how to cut the flowers with the Sizzix (not sure on spelling). Then we all put our cards together and decorated our flowers. Lynne & her son used self adhesive gems. I used a metallic marker.
Card making went relatively well, but things were still tense. Lynne's daughter & son in law were still there after having spent the weekend, which Lynne finds too many visitors at once frustrating. Her daughter was trying to finish up some important paperwork for Lynne, which was frustrating for everyone as weirdly enough, I am the only one who knows where anything is in Lynne's house. And there was absolute drama as Lynne had misplaced her phone at some point and was obsessing over it, convinced it had been stolen. Three different people pinged the phone with different find my phone apps and they all said it was in the house. To my knowledge it has not been found. Lynne also guilted me into taking about 6 sweaters that no longer fit her that she insisted would fit me, despite me putting one on to show her they do not fit me. We will find them good homes.
I had planned on knitting, but after I got home from Lynne's, I was changing into at home clothes and my nose just started bleeding out of nowhere and I felt weird for the rest of the day. I'm just really hoping my sinuses are dried out from the medication the day before (which is a common occurrence for me), and that I'm not coming down with something.

Well done with the spring cards! I have a Cuttlebug too, such fun to use, although I have trouble getting the diecut pieces off the cutting dies. Anyway, the cards sound great, so well done! I'm sure Lynne's phone will turn up, probably in a weird place.
