Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: Which craft that you don't already do would you most like to try?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I've finished the last five felt eggs today: pouches stitched on, the whole thing seamed with blanket stitch, eyelets inserted and hangings added. Now on to the actual bunnies that will sit in the pouches.

Oh, and I've decorated the mutant owls (still don't look anywhere near chickens) and two baking tins' worth of bunnies.

Yellow. They still pretend to be chickens, not that they could fool anyone.

They should work on their disguise harder; it's rather transparent. *g*

That is so much!!

Yeah, I do feel it in my ancient bones. But getting all of this out of my hair is a relief.

Congrats on finishing the eggs!

Thanks, I'm deliriously happy about it.

I'm recovering from an injury so I'm stuck in my chair a lot of the day. Today I took advantage by doing some stitching on my endless guinea pigs (I'm probably 1/3 through the very last one) and started on the second of two crocheted whales I'm making. The yarn is in the colors of the trans pride flag. My first one was slightly wonky (the fins weren't even) but hopefully it'll still be appreciated. :)

The wonkiness will give it character.
How many guinea pigs have you been making?
Saturday, March 16th, 2024 09:28 pm (UTC)
It's one big piece (too big, too ambitious!) with three guinea pigs and an ear of corn on it.

Here is the before and after of a guinea pig!

It's cute!

Thank you! :)

That guinea pig is seriously cute!

Thank you so much!!

Aw, I'm glad it sounds good! It's going along with a bi pride whale (or as my friend calls it, a bisexu-whale) that is less wonky but hopefully both will be appreciated.

Three white squares done, meaning they're all done.
I started on the teal and did two. Watching the rugby games is pretty great for crocheting.

Thanks! I want to be sure to be done before Nibling comes, which is supposed to be in May, but sometimes babies have other ideas.

That is great!

Thanks!

Sports are great for crafting, I think. Everything I watch on TV these days has subtitles. Very difficult to crochet or stitch while reading subtitles. I have a friend who can knit while reading and I think she's magic.

I would love to be able to read while crocheting.
I can do it watching light stuff on the TV, or while having a conversation (at least when it's granny squares and not amiguris), but reading is a whole other level.
