Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: Which craft that you don't already do would you most like to try?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

My cross-stitch gift has finally arrived at its destination. I began it before Xmas but quickly realized I wouldn't finish it to post as an Xmas gift so I finished it in January. FYI this pattern is from Cross-Stitch to Calm by Leah Lintz. I am planning to do 2 more patterns from this book (which I checked out at the library).

This is beautiful - although I seriously doubt cross-stitching would calm me down... on the contrary. Fortunately, we are not all the same. :)

Nice! Better a month late than rushed. I'm sure it was very much appreciated.

I've just finished my jumper's body, yay!!! and I'll go tackle the sleeves tomorrow. Hopefully. I don't have the right size & length circular needle (oops failed at gathering the right supplies before starting oops) so I'll have to make do with double-pointed needles and hope for the best but that's a lot of stitches to juggle so... well. We'll see.

Well done on getting so far and good luck with the next stage.

Fingers crossed for you. Sounds daunting but then again I'm not much of a knitter.

I'm working on my tapestry this evening which is good. I've fallen asleep every night this week without getting any done so I just made a few minutes progress during a lunch break on my work from home day.

You must have really needed sleep! But it gets to me too when I haven't had project time.

Had hoped to be completely over being sick, but no such luck. Started another dishcloth because still not up to finer work.

Again, no crafting today. (I didn't check in yesterday... it was a horrible day and I just collapsed in the evening). But I went to a craft shop in the morning (positive side effect of having to do the grocery shopping) that had extended its size by fifty per cent and bought various kinds of felt and silk and organza flowers; all very small, so that they will fit into my smaller projects just nicely. Spent a lot more money than originally intended, but after the days I've just had I felt I needed a treat.

I added about six inches to my cream scarf. I also organised all my granny squares and counted them up. Most balls gave 11 or 12 squares but one ball I only managed 10 (weird). I'm at 104 squares.
I've spent the morning magic knotting all the scrap ends of each colour to the second ball so that I can keep going and tuck one ball in my handbag for crocheting on the train.

Just more plodding away at sewing. More gold couching and more hamming on the kontusz but my hands really hurt, so it's been slow work. I had plans to sew things on the machine also but that didn't happen. Too hot and sticky.
