Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: Which craft that you don't already do would you most like to try?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

You're probably on a whole new sweater by now, since I haven't been able to poke my head in. :)

Oh, I'm sure you'll do it. :)

Trying to keep on top of chores while juggling house project madness. It's left no time for crafting.

Today the first crocus bloomed though! And we are about 75% through the bathroom project.

House project madness is not compatible with leisurely activities. I imagine you are completely exhausted. But yay for the first crocus!

It was good to see after the chaos in the house.

Considering how long this has been going on I don't want to guess.

I managed to squeeze in a bit of crafting: made the base for Pages 2 of both baby books. All I have to add are the double cards that come into the side pockets. That's six pages done, eight more to go. I seriously doubt they'll be finished in time, but I can't help it.

My recipients are patient souls. It's me who's frustrated with the little to no progress.

Still good progress. If late, just is this time.

Hello! *waves*

I'm Ashtoreth and after seeing this community on my network feed, finally took the plunge and joined.

I started on a new crochet hat. It's a Witch Hat (a la Tiffany Aching from Terry Pratchett's Disc World series) and the pattern I am using is from Morale Fiber.

Currently, I am on Row 24.

That sounds amazing :D

Thank you! It's a fun little project so far; well, after the beginning magic ring and first row. Those little boogers are always tricky for me, and I usually succeed on the 3rd or 4th try, hahah.

I absolutely will be wearing it for Halloween -- and, probably a lot more other days as well. *grin*

As of today, I still haven't read The Shepherd's Crown, but am thinking that this summer might be a good time to say a proper farewell to my favourite of the witches and see how the young one settles that mantle round her shoulders. Or hat on her head *wink*.

So many crafts I've never tried, leather book binding, mosaics, stained glass, metalwork.
I have an embroidery sampler kit I've not used however, and a needle punch kit I started but kept unravelling so haven't got far with, plus I should do more knitting again. So many crafts to dabble in!

Plus the cost of all the materials! I'd really love to try resin again as it didn't go great last time but it's not a cheap hobby.
I was discussing the other day how if you stick the word "craft" or "pet" on something the price goes up. My dad inherited a sewing machine and he brought a bag for it that's meant as carry on luggage but fits perfectly and was a fraction of the price of similar "sewing machine bags"!
