Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: Who do you most enjoy making things for: family, friends, yourself, a special someone?
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I once posted a fic in which Jack was immoral instead on immortal. As the person who pointed it out said, it works either way. The worst thing though is when I'm thinking one word but type something else entirely. Then I have to try to figure out what the word was supposed to be.

I was writing for an old comment_fic prompt today and ended up with over 1700 words. Messed up my tenses though so I need to sort that out. Too long to be be posted to comment_fic anyway.

So far today, I have done:
* 36 minutes on the doll
* 49 minutes on the stocking
* 47 minutes on the Nordic Stripes blanket
* Another 39 minutes on the doll
...and I'm about to work on the doll some more!
I want to take the doll to Stitch Club tomorrow and work on it there, but if I'm going to do that, I need to get past the neck/shoulders because those parts require concentration. Problem is, I usually insert the eyes before I start the neck decreases. Eyes were supposed to come today, but I've been tracking them and they're not going to come until late tomorrow, after Stitch Club.
But I just grabbed another doll I have in progress, and I *should* be able to insert the eyes by putting my fingers through the arm openings. It'll be a bit of a stretch but should work. So I am going to continue work on the doll in a few minutes. but first: a break to post this/check other social media.

Good luck with the doll at Stitch Club and later when you put the eyes in

Sucks that your eyes are going to arrive late (and that is a really weird sentence to type, lol!) Good luck with everything!

I am also a little tipsy.
I actually got a fic polished up and posted at the halfamoon challenge at the last minute. It was something I wrote for 100 days of Halloween Happy, but never posted, but it still counts.
I also made it through book club without getting in a fight with anyone. The book was a bit divisive.
Tomorrow I have errands and my other book club (it's called the Pub Grub Book Club and meets at a Lord of the Rings themed bar), which I should stay up and prepare for, but I think its bedtime.

Also yay for getting a fic posted!
And for avoiding book club fights. I could never handle being in a book club, having to read a particular book.
Good luck for tomorrow!

I hadn't been in since they changed locations, so I was a tad skeptical. The original location was a bit out of town to get there and they had decorated the inside so it would look like a bar in the movies and there was a big map on the wall. Their new location is in the middle of town and much smaller, but the trek to get there adds to the ambience. You walk into the building, which houses 5 or 6 other business on the street level and have to find the steep concrete staircase that leads underground and weave your way through the dark hallway (which in the right mindset, are reminiscent of tunnels), until you find a literal hole in the wall that seems to be glowing. You go inside a tiny hallway and it opens up to the very small bar (the bar itself seats 3 people and there are 2 tables that max out at 6 people each and it would be a very tight squeeze). The walls are painted a yellow that makes you think of gold and there is a mural that takes up most of the back wall.
